Dandridge, Tn where all the locals Whine about entertainment, About the fire dept., Where they eat.
Is a couple of hundred dollars really worth having your house burn down?(how stupid are you?) When was the last time you had to be a fireman? Oh? Thought so...
We are lucky to have so many places to choose from to eat in a samll area.
Do you know how much it takes to set up for music or karaoke? A lot. Stop dogging people who are trying to entertain you.
Do something positive and maybe it won't seem so bad for you all here. I'm just sayin'... get out and join in , have fun and shut the heck up! Blha .. blah , blah ....This town will surely die and it will be your own fault. but ... who crapped and left all you whinning idiots in charge?... then again... Who Cares
Don't post unless
you have something positive to say. or
your just plain stupid and can't help yourself..
which one are you?

Nothing you said sounds very positive to me, so maybe you should stick to your own rules! Just sounds like now you are whining about people whining.

Sure,we have many places to eat but some of them,we've ate at for 20 years, some just plain suck for whatever reason and the others last for year, then they're gone.Entertainment? Other than smoky tractor pulls and wheel hopping truck pulls and some fireworks once a year,we aint got much to be entertained about. If you think Karaoke is entertainment, you're not setting the bar too high yourself.I've been a Fireman, towtruck operator,Shadetree Vet,Part-time Palm reader and an occasional sex therapist. Its all over-rated,especially in a vounteer capacity. But,you know,I don't like to "dog" on folks, even though I'm a Jack of all trades,I'm a master of none.Take a deep breath...people like to whine,it aint just Dandridge.

Sometimes I'm asked about a restaurant and being truthful is not whining. My honest opinion defines who I am and others define my reputation on what I say.

In my younger days I liked the restaurant/bars with loud bands. Today I'm a senior citizen enjoy a quite restaurant where I can have conversation with others at my table.

The quality of food is important and I always tell everyone that my taste may be different than yours. But cheap food seems to be common complaint of most everyone.

The American dollar will decide if your choice of entertainment is what's needed for this town. When the dollar closes the doors don't blame me. My money is spent where I enjoy good food in a quite restaurant like most baby boomers my age. You failed to understand who has the dollars and how to market those citizens to spend in your business.

The Baby Boomers marketed the the Greatest Generation because we knew they had the funds to spend big. Today the X Generation markets the X Generation. Baby Boomers, who own more than 60 percent of the savings accounts, eat at home more since few places provide a market for their dollar.

It's HONESTY not whining.

I don't think people are really whining, but you do have to admit there are a lot of really lousy business owners around here who try to run their businesses by doing the bare minimum and then they complain about people shopping at Walmart of out of the county. Businesses have to try a little harder if you want to keep people happy around here, and keep them coming back.

There is a huge difference in doing something and doing something right.

Well I'm not impressed with your taste in food or choice of entertainment. As a registered voter it's my constitutional right to cast my ballot in this election with as many votes as my dollar will allow.

Visiting the polls several times a week, I cast votes for; Captain's Galley, Bob's Seafood, Brandywine (mostly lunch, while I like the evening music it's too loud), the BBQ on the lake at Deep Springs(they have great homemade deserts), and Carver's Applehouse.

This is one election that I'm not opposed to vote buying, but I am opposed to term limits. Vote early and vote often, it's the American way!

If that's whining then I'm proud to be member of the club.

If you don't like the people in Dandridge, you are welcome to move at any time. The same road that brought you here can take you far away. The people in Dandridge are not going to allow you to force mediocre food and low-class entertainment down their throat. You may think it is good enough for the people in Dandridge, but the people in Dandridge have a little higher standards when it comes to food and entertainment. That should be evident to anyone who has been around during the last couple years with failed restaurants and failed festivals. The people in Dandridge now consists of many retired individuals who have lived and worked in much larger cities and their standards do not diminish just because they have retired and moved here. But the local people as well have always been a proud people and have pretty high standards. If you can't accept that and respect it, then maybe you should look at yourself. A restaurant needs to have good food period. If the food is good the business will be there. I don't want to go to dinner and not be able to hear above the roar; however, if a restaurant wants to offer a certain type of entertainment some nights during the week and it's not something I will enjoy, I just won't go there on those nights. I agree with a former poster in that karaoke is not setting the bar very high.

It was a very pleasant place to be before the invasion of the invasion of the retired yankees happened. Property prices balooned, small town know everybody atmosphere gone, and all of the locals suddenly became stupid because of the famous yankee line, "Thats not the way we did it back where I come from".

I am prepared to take my verbal abuse now for saying the truth.

It's not just Yankees, it is "move-ins" in general. Get here and forget why they came here. But isn't it wonderful that they have come to set us straight.

That's what we need - more bureaucratic pricks stopping people from working...

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Virgo

You have a very high opinion of a certain person today, believing that they can do no wrong. But how realistic are you being? It looks as though you're viewing the world through rose-colored glasses, which is fine if it's only a temporary state but quite another matter if you're deliberately ignoring problems and pretending that they don't exist.
