I sure hope that as reported mat patterson was not intoxicated. He took the lives of a young father who was trying to do his best for his children and a very young little angel. Jimmy's son is not in very good shape and if he survives he will have scars and nightmares for many years to come. I hope that this tragic story is a lesson for anyone and everyone who thinks about drinking and driving. There is more at stake than just your own life. Think before you drink.

I was driving towards Houston on I-45 from Galveston. Supposed I was about 20 miles from Houston. The traffic was moderate with all lanes full and everyone was doing right @ 75MPH.

Up ahead I saw a Blue Ford Pickup on the righthand shoulder. Noticed too the line of cars to my left as I was in the "slower traffic" lane right next to the shoulder.

So this means there are two lanes to my left and the shoulder to my right.

This blue truck pulled out into 75MPH traffic from a dead stop.

1/2 of his truck was in MY LANE and 1/2 was still on the shoulder.

I had to press the brakes down so hard I thought the pedal would snap off. Even though my vehicle is a JEEP Cherokee and in excellent shape, and has the "anti brake locking system", I could hear the tires screeching as my vehicle struggled to keep from smashing into the this irresponsible driver.

I can't believe to save my life how this fool could pull out into traffic from a dead stop w/o checking or thinking "hey, this is the interstate and these cars are traveling the speed limit and I'm on the shoulder".

It was a MEXICAN male. It shook me up so bad that I had to pull over for awhile to stop from shaking.

I'd say there would have been probably 20 cars piled up had I not been able to avoid slamming into the side/rear of this irresponsible mexican driver.

This is how accident happen. He may have been drinking or more likely not known how to drive.

GOD have mercy.

I was a juror on this case and if I had my way, he would have received a longer, harsher sentence than what he got. He does not deserve the light sentence he received. He got off easy and has the few idiotic people that think he will change to thank for it.

Just because the driver was a "MEXICAN male" right away you assume he was drunk or otherwise irresponsible. There are many "WHITE" males and females that should not have gotten their drivers license. What a racist moron you are!

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Taurus

Make a big effort to spend time with people you didn't see on Christmas Day, especially if they're older than you or are having a bad time at the moment. You're brimming over with compassion and empathy, which will be really appreciated by anyone who's on the receiving end of them. You're also in the mood to make allowances for people, and that will help enormously.
