Maybe they should try modifying their business practices in order to encourage travelling and travelers to use hotels?

Ideas:
1) Stop the practice of allowing employees to expect tips. I know bellboys with masters degrees who stay on as bellapes because they make more money with tips than they would working a job for which they're qualified.
2) Lower prices.
3) Improve room sanitation.
4) Improve security.

I can see why the Sheraton Universal would be on that list! My daughter and I stayed there last January, and the stay was horrid! The bathroom had not been cleaned from the prior guest and there were black hairs all over, the elevators were not working half the time and even caught guests inside for 45 minutes, the employees were blatantly obnoxious and didn't care if you had legitimate complaints. Even corporate ignored the contact complaint. They knew what was coming!

Gee.....Imagine that!

Where's Mr."Si se puede" when you need him?

The liberal policies are coming home to roost.

And the Democratic voters keep saying "Give me more!"

Pssssst. Lower your prices to be more in line with what is going on around you. One day, when the money is flowing, you can overcharge again.

Many hotel guests realized they were suckers and no longer stand for it.

Resort fee.
Room and Occupancy tax.
Wi-Fi fee.
$5 snickers from the mini-bar.

Even before starting to read these comments, I knew the bigots and tea-baggers would be out in force.

It's a shame that so many with so little knowledge sit and spew their venom.

The problem is the worldwide economy and diminished tourism--here and every other destination which depends on the tourist.

If folks don't like paying for a three, four or five star hotel, try Motel 6 or the local flophouse, where they would seemingly feel more at home.

(No excuse dirty rooms or surly staff, but that's another story.)

I would suggest to those posting their inanities that they learn some facts before letting their prejudice and lack of knowledge control their fingers on the keyboard.

So sorry that you're stuck in a dead-end job that relies on tips because you never learned a real skill.

The more the news is broadcast about California's decline by most every measure the less appealing we are as a destination.

We voted to be a Third World Hell Hole and cannot expect others to share our enthusiasm for being far less than we once were.

At least the City Council limited the number of Farm Animals illegals could house in our neighborhoods. We are now know to be pathetic.

Poor, poor delusional fool. Your attack will get you nowhere, except perhaps further into your delusion.

I will not bother going into my professional qualifications, since I doubt that you would be able to read "big" words. Your kind specializes in dumbing-down. And feeling superior to anyone YOU deign to place in a position lower than you.

Next time, try UNDERSTANDING what I say. Don't use your own interpretation as a springboard for your inanities. You missed the point entirely, which does not surprise me, since it is SOP for your kind.

Grow up.

What in the world are you trying to say? Ever hear of "syntax"? Or correct punctuation? No, I do not consider myself brilliant. Just educated and willing to learn.

I moved to Idaho 3 years ago because California has turned into a spewing cesspool. I grew up in Tujunga and watched the entire San Fernando valley slowly turn in to the rotten hole that it is now. I can see why people dont want to vacation there. Unless you speak spanish your screwed. You go to Disneyland,Knotts Berry Farm or any of the tourist attractions and its gang bangers, mexicans and every other foreigner that has been allowed in. Who wants to see that stuff on vacation ? And face it...its not the safest place to be. Its all pretty sad,it used to be a great place...but no more.

It sounds like you're either living off of other people's taxes, an outlaw illegal immigrant, or both.

I am sick and tired of your brainless, bigoted, racist comments. I am none of the above, I work hard in a profession and am well compensated but not rich, I love Los Angeles the Valley, and wish folks like you WOULD leave for places like Idaho, where you could feel fuzzy and cozy with your posse comitatus and aryan nation buddies.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Capricorn

You're swayed by your emotions today, making you susceptible to other people's machinations. Are you putty in the hands of your beloved? Are you willing to do whatever, just to keep the peace? Watch out for the influence of another's black mood, or you'll soon start to feel just as miserable. Fortunately this strange mood won't last long.
