When Heliberto Chi showed up at a men's clothing store in suburban Dallas, he was a familiar face because he'd once worked there as a tailor.

I don't understand why there is even a question whether a lethal injection is a humane way to execute a criminal that has been set to die. What about the victims that have died at the hands of these heartless criminals.KIll them which ever way is handy at the time, whether it be the electric chair or lethal injection, and be done with it.

They should get two appeals by different judges, within 6 months of each other. If they are found guilty both times, then take them to the courthouse steps and string them up. It's ridiculous we should house them for years and let them breathe the air their victims can't. I'd make it policy where everyone convicted of a violent crime that is in jail at the time be forced to watch it live from their cells, too.

You guys are totally missing the point . . . this case is not about whether the death penalty is valid or how many appeals the inmate should receive . . . this is about the FACT that ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS have more rights than American Citizens. It is a sad fact - a sad state of affairs. We are screwed.

What is Chi thinking when he says his rights have been violated. Besides, being illegal he doesn't have any rights. What about the man's right which he gunned down in cold blood. I wish I was the person to push the button to end this waste of a human life. Death is what he deserves and it is what he will get! When are these people going to get it, kill a Texan, and Texas will kill you!

Maybe there is hope since Perry stood up and let that POS Medellin die. What really needs to happen is to empty out death rows all over America and start using these POS's for drug/ammo/medical and any other testing where a live animal would come in handy and then kill them off.

This happened in 01. It took too long for the other killer to die hopefully this one will take his last breath soon. If you kill you don't deserve to live I don't care if you're hispanic or not. What is up with the liberals feeling sorry for criminals? What about the VICTIMS?

I say criminals who face the death penalty should suffer the same faith as their victims. This should be law. You live by the sword, you die by the sword.

His rights were violated...Quite the self-serving statement coming from an unrepentant murdererer. I hope for two things:
1. That Mr. Chi receives his just rewards not only but in whatever afterlife he professes to believe in, and
2. That the execution of foreign nationals in the USA does not place Americans at risk overseas.

Number 2 is irrelevant when you consider the big picture. Ever since 9/11 and slightly before, Americans have been at risk overseas. Our executing criminals isn't going to make that much worse. That's just an excuse the defense lawyers like to throw out in the hopes of swaying a judge or governor.

<quoted text>that is the most ignorant, least planned response of all time. There has been punishment for criminals for 1000's of years, has anything ever stopped a criminal from being a criminal? If your answer is yes, then go interview the 30,000,000 people in prison

Anyone who argues the merits of the death penalty as a deterrent is missing the point. YOu may not deter "other" people from killing, but you gaurantee the murderer will not kill anyone else. You can't get that assurance with a prison sentence.

By allowing a murderer to live, you place the prison guards at even greater risk from someone who's already killed and therefore doesn't have a problem doing so again. Also, with prisons and crowding being the way it is, you run the risk of him being released and back among the public, the very people you're supposed to save from him.

You don't have to justify capital punishment to Texans. They have it down pat.
