Personally, I think he'll plead temporary insanity - who knows what the outcome will be. I hope he doesn't spend the rest of his life in prison - you never know how you're going to react when your back is against a wall and it sounds like his was. Only time will tell.....

The sheriff messed up big time when he said that. But, you usually only kill your lover during a crime of passion.
