I believe she was convicted on four out of the five counts against her (I was sitting in the court room). I believe it was sound justice for this little three year old, who never stood a chance. Does anyone know where and when the father will be tried?

Yes it is, so sad. This poor little baby had no chance in life. I'm glad the jury spoke for little Brandi! But in prison, this mother will get three square meals...more than Brandi got probably in her short life!

So, she took enough care of the cats to feed them consistently, but not clean up after them enough to keep her child from becoming ill. But she didn't bother to feed her child and wouldn't let her even eat the cat food? What an unbelievable story. And the father what the heck? How do two such people get together?

This is a great example of people who should not have any kids!!!!
This story makes me wish we had not abolished the death penalty.

The father was away on a tour of duty (TDY). The husband was the provider, as well as the only one who did anything for that family. He should not be charged with any crime for doing his job and serving his country and leaving his child with the mother, whom he unfortunately came to find out was more useless than he could have ever imagined. Poor guy... A sick wife and the death of his daughter and now he is put through this?!
