I'm surprised at the experience you had, Scott, because all of the times we've eaten at Elephant Bar, we've been quite pleased--and I'm fussy about these things.
Perhaps Elephant Bar has already had to cut corners to keep up with demand. That's sad.

Same old story: 50 plus chain comes to Orlando. Lousy food.So-so service. They figure those yokels in the Orlando area will eat and put up and pay for anything. I will give it a try. If it is anything like Scott's review, I won't be back. This certainly is not the first chain to open at the Altamonte Mall and unfortunately probably not the last. It sure has to be a lot better than this or that elephant will quickly slink away with its tail between its legs.

My family ate there once, and that was enough. The food was so bland and unappealing. It looked nice but tasteless for the most part. The decor was pleasant thou but we will not be visiting again there.

Lucky there is a Home Depo nearby so they can get some plywood to board the place up. So sad when a chain comes to town and tries to rip us locals off. We are to smart for that.

Some of the problems can be blamed from top to the bottom. Most management can also attribute to the out come of a buisness provided they do what ever it takes to succeed. But in Reality it is the Team /Workers who are at fault for thier lack of expierence or the attitude they have. If people would look at the the buisness where they work as thier own, I believe We all would see a difference. The Do Whatever it Takes Attitude would succeed and survive for all for years to come. The workers who just show up and do mediocre work for just a paycheck does not cut it anymore. If employers would take care of thier employees more than just the for Profit margin , we would see better service all the way around. If places cut this type of service , you see they don't last. I know that I would not patronize any place of buisness that didn't provide nor take care of the customer Period. Over pricing is alot of the problem for the fast buck instead of fair pricing for longevity. Therefore the quality falls dramaticly and makes our community suffer as a whole.

Thanks, Scott. Keep up the good work.
Speaking of chains, the Sonny's on South Alafaya in Waterford is atrocious. The sliced pork seems undercooked and greasy. The pulled pork has lots of gristle and looks like it went through a woodchipper. You can't get real butter for your baked potato, just some bland margarine substitute, and not much of that. The garlic "toast" is always damp, rubbery, and nowhere near toasted.
I remember when it was actually good food.

True Bar B Que is now left in the hands of ones who choose to do it right at homes ,parks etc... I agree , However Sonny's was one of the closest ones minus doing it without the Bar B Que sauce on the meat while bar b queing.

I completely agree with all you have said. I do recipe development globally and the dishes there where there are not it any way connected to anything within the Pacific Rim by flavor. The service was incomplete at best during my visit and when one of the people at the table discovered that one of the chicken tenders was actually fish there was little if any concern shown on behalf of the management....could be a deadly mistake with seafood allergies. When they burned a dish they did comp it but I am sure for home office reasons the ticket said customer did not enjoy. The drinks I thought would be stellar, but again a total let down.

who is this guy who wrote this horrible and WRONG review? some un-known guy who still eats his mother's frozen pizzas and watery eggs? he has no idea what he's talking about! elephant bar is excellent and you get ALOT of food for very little price! the food is excellent and i suggest this 'food critic'(if u can call him that) should stick to his frozen foods and bad home-made cooking that he's eaten his whole life

Love Elephant Bar
|
I totally disagree with Scott's review. I have eaten at the Millenia location and absolutely loved the food. The appetizer (coconut shrimp),dinner (Chicken Firepot / Kung Pao Shrimp), dessert (ice cream cookie) and drinks were all wonderful and very nicely priced. The kids meals are such a great deal. The service was exceptional and the decor was great. I have had many friends go there and all have had great experiences. I highly recommend checking out this wonderful restaurant. I KNOW you will not be disappointe. My family and I will continue to go back, best meal for sure in that area of town.

Great Experience
|
We ate at the new one in Fort Myers and it was FANTASTIC. We where greeted within 30 seconds, our server was on point all night, the food was great and I love the decor and feel of the place. I don't now what the complainers are smokin, but they need to put that crap down.

People are entitled to their opinion. In case you didn't realize it this man is employed to go to these places, eat their food, and then share his experiences. If you agree, fine. If you don't, fine. He didn't insult you or them, he was sharing his experience. If you like the place go eat there. Some of us read and take into consideration restaurant reviews b/c we want our dining out experience to be enjoyable. Almost every restaurant out there will have it's fans and it's foes. Maybe another location was better, not impossible. Maybe every visit you made was great, it's possible. But show the writer the same respect and accept his experience could have been the exact opposite of yours. It amazes me how many people will pay so much money for bland, boring, crappy food; and endure ignorant, disrespectful, lazy help b/c they don't know any better. I have never met Scott or have eaten at many of the same places he has critiqued but I appreciate his assistance and point of view.
