I found this article while searching info on the I80 Bus crash. For what it's worth Methadone is no substitute for abstaining. I don't have much regard for treatments that replace in kind. Hey, let's have a big hand for the fat lady. We've replaced the cheese cake with twinkies.

I agree with Alabaster. I know of someone who has been on this treatment for 20 years, so who do you think pays for the drugs, we the tax payers, and keep in mind the Meth people get reduced housing, and welfare, all for being an unproductive citizen and a burden on society. The only difference is now they won't rob you or your house to pay for drugs because now they are free.
