I don't know about the "crucify and burn him" part, but otherwise I say: "Here! Here!" I don't believe that we can stereotype all priests by Randy's actions because I know there are good priests and the actions of one or even several cannot negate the good of the many good priests attending to God's work. It is for that reason that I believe priests caught with thier hand in the cookie jar need to be dealt with severely because their actions can have a negative impact on the entire priest population and Catholicism at large. Just look at this string of comments. Randy's actions are categorically being termed "A Catholic Thing" when in fact, it's just a Randy Thing. Randy is Filipino too. Does that mean this is a Filipino thing? Both suggestions are ridiculous. Assign blame where it belongs. Randy did this. Randy needs to except responsibility, leave the Church and find work in a profession wherein trysts in Hotel 6s are acceptable and expected.

I stand corrected. Truly a profound oversight. If in fact the evidence suggests that the woman was in fact victimized and the sex was either not consentual or she was mislead into believing the act was acceptable as a result of her spiritual mentor's deception, then as Christians, we should pray for her healing and commend her for having the courage to come forward with the same sense of focus that we should pursue a fair and just sentence for Randy.
