My child attended Noah's Ark Preschool for 2 years. He left there well prepared for Kindergarten. Parents were informed of this issue formaly and personally. I understand bad choices were made that affected the children. Those have been dealt with. My daughter starts her pre-school there this summer. Noah's Ark has had one of the highest track records of any pre-school in watsonville. Not to mention its well established in this community. We will support Noah's Ark as well as Ms Isabel.

You can support them all you want, now that the wrong doers are gone, my child has been there for over 2 years, abuse was not apparent until pre K was built and I saw Miss Isabell instructing another teacher to abuse a child w/ a red nose, just did not know at the time that, that was what was going, on she qwite because she was named in the alligations, I am disgusted, I loved those teachers, but get real....it did happen, there was no Career change, she got busted!!!! They should be prosecuted so they dont do this to someone else!!!! A wolf in sheeps clothing....is what they were, but now the school is much better with real teachers not abusive ones!!!

<quoted text> The friends who my kids brought home that attended full time daycare / preschool were really hyper, ADDish, not well behaved and unpleasant to be around. The kids who were raised at home might be only average in academics but they were calm, nice, and pleasant to be around. Some of the brightest students we met were home schooled. I think if anyone took the time to ask their children what their preference would be, it would be to stay home with mom or dad.
Your experience is biased. Plenty of kids that attended full time Day Care are much more socially developed than home-school kids. The problem is not fulltime day care, it is that the parents usually do not want to actually parent their child anymore.

I have met numerouse home-schooled children that are complete baby's that cannot advocate for them selves, or get along well with peers. Some are bullies.

Good parents make the biggest difference, regardless of day care or no day care. Period.

The question is... who was fired, and what the heck is Noah's Ark going to do for the kids that were abused? Someone's got to pay. This is ridiculous... we trusted these people with our precious, innocent children, and they abused them. I want answers.

I belive they should pay too, atleast be prevented from harming another child!!! Noahs Ark school is under reform and doing well and safe,it will be number 1 again and that is good, but who is to protect those children out there from those other several teachers from doing this again to other children!!!! They knew what they were doing was wrong, they had INTENT!!! and covered it UP!!! Isnt that a crime?

Most of the teachers work for Noah's ark Pre-school in Watsonville and Santa Cruz have no ECE units. The owner Lee CamPbell has a school(Unregistered). He give a way free ECE units for the unqualified people. so he can pay $8-$10.

What? Are they not required by the state to be licensed? Especially to work in a school that claims a religous background or private? Anyother chid care facility I used in the past all had to be licensed...I thought all schools required teachers to be special licensed or acredited? I belived this to be without question....isnt it mandatory? How could you claim to be the number one school, if your teachers are not even licensed or it is a farce? This is deeper than perhaps previously belived on the surface....are you sure? Or is this assumption?

Wait not only that, but they take state voucher and state cal works children, arent the teachers supposed to be registered with the state and acredited? They should not be able to just hire anyone?.....dont they have special requirements?

My son went there and attended for a few months.. he would scream when we would drop him off.. There was on teacher that he hated.. her name was Mrs. Dilly.. evertime we mentioned her name, he would cover his eyes and scream.. we switched him somewhere else and he was fine.... I am so glad that this pre-school was investigated. I really felt something wrong was happening and I am so glad that now there is proof!
I wish for no other child to go through any abuse.

My child went through the same thing with teacher Elizabeth, he would whisper her name after they all qwite like she might hear him, she said she was mean....he used to scream and cry to when I left him it started suddenly after all the new teachers came, I am concerned they fractrued his hip and are getting away with it the abuse went further cuz they never said anything about his injuries and they ALL NEW!!!! How long ago was ur child there ? Was it pre K? They need to be prosecuted, no one seems to be doing anything and they are going to get away with it, do it at another school and the next child may not be so lucky....There was more going on then belived, the school down played because they are not listening to parents. These teachers were like the anti-christ even cornering students to make them comply....

I'm sad and angry to think that my son had to be subjected to any of this abuse - or witness it. What is the purpose of licensing facilities like this if it doesn't provide sufficient protection for our children?

I was very pissed off to find out that my son was separated from the other children because they "thought" he had pinkeye on one occasion (which he didn't). I work an HOUR from the preschool and I think they made him sit all by himself during the time I had to drive and pick him up. I removed him shortly thereafter...

Shouldn't Lee Campbell also be held accountable for some of the wrongs that were going on at the school?Did he ever make surprise visits and how often did he check up on the staff. Was he involved enough at the school that parents were aware of who he was and had a chance to talk to him. After all he was the main one in charge and the one responsable for the hiring right?

Yes, I belive Lee Cambell should be held accountable, it does verge on negligence. He was forthcoming, maybe to deflect responsibility or maybe honesty. If I had done this to my child, myself, I gaurnantee Child Protective Services would be involved and an criminal investigation....leading to the loss of my child...I dont feel Mr. Cambell knowingly was involved, however, I feel he definitley should have been more involved with the schools, hard to say, we trusted everyone, but I dont think he had intential interacctions simply because of his admissions. I dont know if total evaluations and crimnal background checks of the teachers were ever given....etc. I only met him at X Mas parties did not know who he was...so is it a cover up? or was he an innocent bystander who trusted like the rest of us? He admited to what had happend....devulged information he could have kept silent and was forthcoming..a cover up? Maybe?....Honesty and unknowing, perhaps... true too....admitedly he was not involved personally in the schools, all 3 of them....I DONT KNOW...
But I do know, Child Protective Services, would not allow me to abuse my child, does the District Attorney care? Perhaps not...I emailed them...FBI, not likely...no one to investigate? Other than what has transpired? And some of the children including my own are mentally delayed because of the abuse...If I saw these teachers on the street I would do more than pull there nose!!!!

Lee Cambell is a monster. he only care about money. he treat the staff like shit. very abusive. i work for him 2 years ago. he don't care about the kids at all. i only last for a week. i don't wanted to deal with his shit. as a teacher the most important thing he wanted me to do was cleaning the carperts and the walls all the time. that the only thing he cared.
Thankfull

I came very close to enrolling my 2yr old there. I am so happy that my intuition led me to another program. I personally felt that the slide was too high for a little one and that the supervision was too low for as many children as they enroll. Not only that the buildings are small and crowded. I think it should be shut down.

They should investigate the teachers is what they should do, i cant belive I went to the DA, they said it was the states issue, state told me it was just about licensing thats all they were doing, CPS only took some information and Watsonville Investigations unit, never returned my phone call. SO obviously their either already taking care of it, or no one cares, I just gotta move on, dosnt seem anyone wants to do anything makes me angry, but life has to get better for my kid and me. Dont think they will likely close anything down. They dont even care to investigate it seems....? If it was anyone else kids would have been taken away and a big stink...but those evil bitches get away with attempting murder as far as I am concerned!!!

I had an abusive kindergarten teacher (locked me in a closet, for instance), and I still remember all she did all these many, many years and decades later. While I think it's unrealistic and unjust to yell at parents (posters Eug and "a stink") for not staying home with their children, I do know people who put less effort into choosing daycare for their kids than they put into buying a new car, refrigerator or choosing a building contractor. It's a matter of priorities. Your kids are worth taking the time to check. Never take it on faith that people will do the right thing with your kids. Show up unannounced at the daycare, get numerous referrals, research whether there have ever been problems at the place, ask loads of questions and watch the reaction of the person you are questioning. Are they annoyed? Are they withholding information? Question your child, gently, about what they see and do at the daycare or school. And if your kid is crying and fussing and doesn't want to go to school in the mornings, for God's sake, don't assume that he or she is just acting up and trying to make your life difficult. Your child could be trying to tell you something.

Attempting murder??? Do you know what hyperbole means? Do you realize that speaking that way -- inflating facts ... or alleged facts -- completely devalues your argument?
