Disgusting!! Yes, be careful where you leave your children. Make unannounced visits at different times of the day and notice how the children are feeling while you are there. Ask questions about anything you think is "off" and if the staff can't give you adequate answers, then take your child out until you get the answers you need. Better safe than sorry. I cannot stress this enough. Having worked in many daycares in the bay area, I can tell you that not all of them are exactly what they seem. Scary....

Families need affordable quality childcare provided by people who have education and training in child development. I run a quality program, but have to charge a ton to make ends meet which makes my program inaccessible to low and middle income people. Families who are very low income qualify for some quality government funded programs,(And by quality I mean that they do not force feed children or break their bones. There is some question about the State mandating what is best for kids rather than Early Childhood Educators.) For the majority of folks who are in the middle,(Not high and not very low income,) they are left to try to find affordable childcare. "Discount childcare" usually comes at a cost. Parents should not have to make these types of "hope for the best" decisions when it comes to their child's well being.
The answer is to remember the kids when you vote. Their are people working on reform constantly, but you gotta vote for money for kids programs when they come up on the ballot.

That's so shocking. I heard there are several child care centers in cupertino, where children are subjected to negligence. I wish if the santa clara county dept of family and children's services could do visits to all of the home day cares, and community day cares, that would reveal many cases.

All residents of santa clara county, please watch out for these kind of activities.
