What Are Good Restaurant Marketing Strategies?
I help to run a national dining guide Dinersnation ( http://www.dinersnation.com ) and I get a lot of requests for restaurant marketing strategies.

I've heard a whole slew of ideas, but I'd like to get some more feed-back from other restaurant owners and customers alike.

I think that you've got to look at having some sort of mobile presence, whether it's mobile ordering or mobile marketing services. Also, these are 5 great restaurant marketing blogs that I read to keep abreast of this industry. http://www.mobilaurus.com/blog/

Establishing an online presence and building a strong online reputation is crucial for any restaurant marketing strategy. So when it comes to online marketing, check out chatmeter. It's a free tool that helps you get listed on local search engines, tells you how you rank on Google and Yahoo, and helps you monitor reviews and chatter about your business across the web. It's easy and it's free, check it out here: bit.ly/icZQXH

A good restaurant marketing strategy would be to set up an online ordering system for a restaurant. It will increase your sales and also get your name out their in the restaurant world. I have used online ordering before and the best online ordering site that I have used has been www.menudrive.com .

Also, to get your site known, you should incorporate SEO(search engine optimization) into your website. A good site on how to learn about this would be http://www.workz.com/content/view_content.htm...

Thanks and I hope this helps!

Ben,

I definitely think that marketing and technology are coming together in the recent days. Mobile Marketing is something that all restaurants should look at. I actually work for a company that provides Mobile Marketing Solutions called SkyWire Media, Inc. We are fully integrated with Micros and InfoGenesis which allows customers to receive text messages with dynamic coupon codes that are redeemed right on the Point Of Sale system. This not only will push guests to the restaurant, but will also decrease internal coupon fraud immensely. What are your thoughts on Mobile Marketing?? Also, feel free to check out our website at http://www.skywiremedia.com/products.php and feel free to contact me if this is an avenue that you are looking to explore.

Best of luck to you,

Mobile marketing should definitely be a part of your overall strategy as well as social media (facebook, twitter) and alike. There are a lot of good tips above. Another part could be caller ring back tones: http://www.ect-ringback.com/Products.html although that might depend on the size of your restaurant/chain.

The very best marketing for a restaurant is "word of mouth". When someone truly likes a restaurant they will want it to stay in business so they spread the word to drum up customers.

What makes for a worthy "word of mouth" restaurant? If a restaurant delivers fresh food (not a Sysco prepackaged); if the employees are kind and cooperative; if the food is deliciously prepared and a good value, price-wise... these are things that make people want to share the good news about a place.

Of course, these are things all restaurants should be doing but do not. Sad really, but there it is.

We use a type of mobile messaging service with http://textagram.com/ to get customers into our restaurant. We like to send our contact list a text blast before a Happy Hour special before work gets out, or right before a sporting event.

We were also able to schedule our customer's birthdays into our contact list. So whenever a birthday comes up they automatically get a Happy Birthday text saying if they come in within 3 days we'll give them a birthday discount. Works very well!

I think it is important to have a good website with social media integrated into it. You could give a discount for people who "check in" to your restaurant on their smart phone. Encourage people to leave reviews.

In today's demanding world, more and more people are turning to the web for simple ways to order food from their favorite restaurants. If you are a business owner and don't have your own website, there is a good opportunity you are losing business to your competitors. In addition, having a website does not promise that you will get the desired users coming to your site and this is where eatonline, an expert on online restaurant menus and online ordering can help.

With online ordering system your restaurant's online ordering website is working for you even when you're resting. Clients can browse your menu and leave orders ahead of time for when your business is open.
With online food ordering system will enhance your restaurantís sales and get up customer satisfaction.

I discovered the Win Win Restaurant Marketing System and found it really useful. It came with loads of ideas and templates so it was easy for me to put things in place, which as a busy restaurant owner was just invaluable. I had been wary of these types of 'kits', but really, for the price, it was worth it. i now have all the standard things in place that I should have done long ago, and it was relatively painless. I highly recommend it to any other restaurant owners or managers.

My cousin was trying to get her business off the ground, independently. It was a lot harder than it needed to be. I kept telling her, there's companies out there that will do full-service marketing for small businesses. http://www.smartmarketingcommunications.com/s...
