5/8 - Fourth-grader brings knives to South Penn
CUMBERLAND - A fourth-grade student at South Penn Elementary School was taken to the police department by a school resource officer after two knives were found in the student's backpack Wednesday, according to the Allegany County Board of Education.
The student has been suspended indefinitely, pending the result of an investigation by school personnel, according to the board.
The student allegedly made threatening comments regarding the knives to another student, who notified administration immediately, according to the board.
The student, along with several witnesses and staff were interviewed, and a conference was held with the student, the student's family, the school resource officer, a pupil personnel worker and the principal.
School administration plans to send letters regarding the incident to parents today.

I hope this kid learns his lesson because he could very well hurt other children.
