I am so sorry, this is not IA beliefs. That was soo gross. That family needs to have their kids taken away.

OMG!!! This was sooo freaky and sooo not representative of typical Midwestern farm life. This crazy woman and her kook of a husband are doing a horrible diservice to their children. It may be ok to live that way as adults but I am not certain if it is even legal to allow children to be raised in that type of enviroment. Filthy, dirty, being fed potentially harmful food and zero formal education. It really makes me wonder what will happen to those kids after they have spent years of being brainwashed with this BS. And what was going on with her teeth--eeww, gross!

With all of the work that the governor and the state officials do to present Iowa in a different light and to make other states actually see Iowa as it really is....not uneducated and backward. I feel this show was very harmful to our states reputation. I have lived in Iowa my whole life and I have never met anyone like the freaks that represented our state in the wife swap program. This was harmful, degrading and repulsive. Our state deserves an apology from this program. I would think Gov. Culver would be outraged!!!!! I know I am.

Whatever was paid to these self-sustaining freaks was a waste of money. They will never represent the people of southwest Iowa. There are KOOKS in every closet and you found ours. I'm afraid the children are already lost due to the brainwashing they receive 24 hours a day. They are a little ahead of the cavemen and a little behind the rest of the world.

I don't see any of the people on this show as representative of any state or region, especially when they live such an extreme existence. Not all city dwellers are as shallow or pretentious as the other set of parents. There are quite a few though as I'm sure there are a few more crazies in the Midwest, but only fools would think that everyone in IA eats raw meat just because of this show.

We should also remember that "reality" tv shows tend to focus oddities and conflicts. That tends to augment those qualities and distort reality. I always forget that as I'm watching one of these shows.
