There are a lot of polls on this page. I thought that maybe people who own small businesses (or large) here in Lewisburg might like to share or use this poll to network and connect to other business owners.

If you live in Lewisburg, support Lewisburg and use the services of one of the locals here!

I have heard that Movie Gallery is really slow right now so if you need to rent a movie, go see them.

Lets support our local families and communities and make Lewisburg a great place to live!

Sounds like a great Idea to me. Yes, I am a business owner here and like many of my friends who like wise own businesses, it is really bad out here. It seems that all of the small Mom and Pop people are dying. I am happy to see a positive use of this forum. Lets work together!

P too own a business. The city really makes it hard to make anything posptive out of it.
The locals only shop with longtime friends and family. Outsiders who start up businesses do not stand a chance to survive in Lewisburg.
The mayor is doing little if anything. Has anyone noticed anything in the works?
Hard attitudes are hard to break.
I never had anyone within local elected or appointed positions ever enter my business unless they were running for election.

I need a good dentist - really whimpy lady whose coke/soda habit has strarted to catch up with my teeth - Big Chicken Look for A TENDER HANDED Dentist. If you know of one let me know.

Thanks

P.S. Customer Service? I don't think anyone under the age of 30 even knows what that is - since companies have to cut costs - and labor is a big one, often the worked couldn't provide good service if they tried. Remember back years ago when you go to the deli counter - there'd be like 4 people to help you out. Now your lucky if there's one - and their doing it all.

If you list the name of the company, I will call the ownner - not that I want bashing, but if the owner doesn't know then he/she can't look into it. If the owner knows and doesn't care, he/she doesn't deserve our good business.

ps
maybe we should hold networking coffee meetings or something. Start our own little orgnization. We could all collect each others business cards and brochures and reccommend each other to our clients.

They have clubs like that. They just turn into paid position clubs.
The chamber should do a lot more to save this city. But they are too busy dollying up for the next "grande' opening" luncheon which should last for 1 year at a new business.

Do any of you really think any one in local government understands small business why because most of them never have had or been in a small business they all have worked for someone else and in some cases the government itself.

If they do get someone with common sense they seem to lose it when their head swells big as two.

This seems to be a great way to help out each other. No fees or dues and no one big shot trying to run the show. It will be just honest people trying to help each other. Keeping it simple.

You got the right idea now!!!!!!!!

but wait a minute the Chamber of Commerce can't allow that to happen
how in the world would they collect their dues

they could not control the parties and run the show
all you would have is business talking business and that would never do,
you would have to have them to run and plan your party too.
What in the world is the matter with you,

Thanks to all for the dentist info!

I appreciate it! Going Wed - don't want to though - had to go with Dr. Dennis Sigman because of my dental insurance.

We'll, I still say we start an organization - totally Free to be in and we market creatively as a group - No special powers - come up with a vision/organization statement and Stick To It. I personally have some connections in Williamson County - not that it really means anything, but I am willing to work anywhere from here to Cool Springs - and just knock peoples socks off with our services, ethics, quality and Honesty and Integrity! Heck, we could even go nationally and have our own dental/liability etc rates set up (although a few states are pretty difficult to find nation wide plans for) Oh, ideas are always easy to come up with - often hard to execute. eh?
See Ya!

I think that is a good idea. I know of many great locally owned businesses. Lets spread the word about the good ones. Like 4 ever Flowers or Jimmy's Deli.

We don't need a Chamber. We just need people helping people. Let's spread the word of the good things that we do have here. What about our own hometown grocery.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Sagittarius

Mercury turning retrograde in your house of finances carries a rather unseasonal message, because it's telling you to pay attention to your finances over the next few weeks. If you already know that you've overspent this month, you won't need to be told that a few economies are just around the corner. Get the facts straight and pay attention to the small print. You may also have to make some adjustments to an intimate relationship so it can move into another phase.
