In spite of what Bishop Lori and the rest of the fascist perverts who run the Catholic Church think this is still a democracy and I am free to attack a perverted corrupt phony religion like the Roman PErvert Church if I want to...so shut up!

The reality is they swept it under the rug for one reason:

Ca-Ching.

The RCC is a business, nothing more.

And, the psychologists at that time likened the abusers to those who had sexual relations with women. Their advice to the catholic Bishops was to remove them from the situation as soon as possible, and that would solve everything. The Bishops, not being psychologists themselves listened to the advice and believed everything was well and good.

It always helps to know the rest of the story.

The understanding of Pedophilia in the 1950s was very limited. A persons attraction to children was seen as a sexual abberation. Psychology understood Pedophilia as a curable condition. Even today there are trials with medication and behaviour modification - all having limited success.

It would be interesting to have the bishops turn around and sue the psychologists.

Jos, As the Bishops learned the error of that thinking, they continued moving this perverts all over America. Please forward your defense of them to the parents of the kids who committed suicide.

Each time you see a priest, in his face, you should see a superimposed image of a 9 year old taking his last breath after years of abuse at the hands of one of his "brothers".

Tom do not think I am trying to defend what happened. Truly when there was no change in behaviour, then there should have been a move involve the civil authorities, institutionalize them, and certainly take them out of ministry. I am only offering that this was one piece of the picture that seemed to prolong a terrible scenario.

I had read something today that related how centuries ago, clerics who were involved in "relations" with young men, were imprisoned in a monastery, and then secluded for many years until they got 'better.'

Jos, They cannot get better. Lori and Egan knew, and did not care.

Ca-ching was their savior, than and now.

Priests should be allowed to marry, this is a simple solution, but they don't want to talk about it. They told me it's a money matter not spiritual. if they have a family they have to support the wife and kids and this will bring more complains about how much money they will spent.Every thing is about money for the church, The Vatican is the richest country in the world .!

Dr. Jay Feierman, a psychiatrist in Albuquerque, NM, who has met with hundreds of pedophilic priests at the Catholic treatment center, said that although some priests he treated molested young children or teenage girls, more than half, he said, had abused boys 12 to 17. His study was accepted for publication in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, a scientific journal, but withdrawn due to pressures by the director of the Catholic Treatment Center!
Dr. Robert Goodkind, a psychologist who worked at Jemez Springs, NM, in the 1980's and 1990's, said the priests seemed oblivious that the boys they were abusing were minors.
The deception ran DEEP!

Leopards do not change their spots! When they knew the priests liked sex with children, they should have bit the bullet and had them arrested and stopped. Instead they let the pedofiles carry on their quest for new victims by transferring, hiding and were too ashamed to air the dirt and scum out of the closets. All those innocent children, at least some of them, could have been spared the pain and humiliation of molestation. The money the church paid can never buy back their innocence. The church committed the gravest sin of all, as they forgot that children are a gift straight from God. They were put on this earth to be loved and nurtured and protected, as all children should be in a perfect world. Judgement day is coming, and the church, and all who allowed this to go on will rot in hell!
Absolutely, I just posted about the article I read. Egan knew this one priest had molested and then paid the hush hush money to the victim but transferred the priest to another parish, and you guessed it, he did it again (by the way, the cat was never let out of the bag to the parish about this priest's problem) Big Secret

it's very difficult to go to confession and confess sins to someone who has sinned more than I have!!
I'll continue confessing in my own way to God for my sins that are not even 1/10 of their's!

Hello Sam.
I am trying to protect myself from all the germs that are going around the office....people REALLY should stay home and not spread all their germs.
I've been having HOT SOUP for supper and staying under the covers (esp after that NASTY cold front and rain we had)... It seems to be working.
How have you been?
I haven't been checking in lately...(I guess you noticed)... I'll have to try to catch up..anything new? Have you been good? ha ha :-)
