A notorious burglar in the Jemez Springs area known as the "Cookie Bandit" was the central figure in shooting incident which left the bandit and a Sandoval County Deputy dead on Thursday.

The county should look into all there cold cases, including San Ysidro , Canon, Ponderosa . From What peopla are saying is" they use to see him riding a bicycle all over the forest roads",forest rd. 10 forest rd 144, and forest road 126. I Also heard that he was spotted on Cat Mesa.. I think alot of the burglaries were very ignored by Sandoval County and the actions of this man.

I agree the burgularies were ignored for too long of a time. I was wondering if it was an officer's mentally ill relative and they were going to look the other way. I am glad they got serious about it. But is has to not be in the winter to get any action. Sorry for the good officer that was killed.
