It seems that Rush has a lot more conection to Bill Richardson. If that is a factor in any voters mind it may have some bearing. Ray Powell has always been no fan of Bills just like Denish, but might be considered by uninformed voters to be connected with him.

Are we saying that the current incumbent is connected with the administration, or the ex-incumbent?

I asked a logical question. They have both served in this position. They both have served under Richardson. Powell was very much at odds with Bill. Who would you consider the "old" and who would you consider the "new"?

So you are saying that you will vote for Powell, since he was in first but not in now?

Me too, becasue I know he was against Bill and supported Denish. I beleive that the fellow we have in there today (the Republican)is Bill's lapdog.

But BOTH candidates are/were incumbents and a blind vote for the fellow that is NOT an incumbent is just dumb. Why not choose the best candidate based on qualifications rather than simply cast a blind vote? You may as well be voting a straight ticket, voting for only whites, or voting only for men. Being tied into a partisan ideology or a fized plan is just giving power to the people that you want to keep out of office. Dont let a slogan or a party convince you of how to vote or why.

"Build Up" is right. Matt Rush has never served in any political office before and he is not a big bill blind supporter. He is in this race because he truly understands and is passionate about the State Land Office. For months Mr. Matt Rush, candidate for the all-important State Land Commissioner, has been fibbing about having an associate degree from Lubbock Christian University. How can anyone vote for guy for a $90,000 salaried job?

He is a member of the Ethos Leadership Group where he says he "earned his degree in Agriculture and Business from Lubbock Christian University" implying he graduated the school with a full degree. The Group "assist organizations and individuals in their enhancement of professionalism, leadership, and fundraising."

Mr. Rush is inexperienced and does not understand the office.

Here is a campaign video for Matt Rush. Note there is a problem with him spelling State Land Comissioner (sic). In addition he stressed that Christians need to take back America and make this a Christian nation.
