Why do they schedule these burns at the peak of the Fall foliage season? People who go into northern NM to see and photograph the fall colors get a pall of smoke instead. They do this every year right at the peak of the Fall color.

I can't believe that anyone would even consider a controlled burn at this time. I live in the Jemez and it is dry and windy. Perfect conditions for a Cerro Grande scenario. I lived in Los Alamos when that shinanigang occurred. Foolish at best, ignorant more likely. I can see the smoke covering the valley just beyond my home. Unbelievable !!!!!!!!

Wooo hoooo! Another one in the middle of windy season! I'm thinking they aren't the brightest bulbs in the box!! Lots of wind, lots of dry foliage, yep, we'll have another fire show before too long!

Daily Horoscope for November 24

Virgo

If you've been under pressure lately, you might reach critical mass today. The sensitive Moon clashes with the Sun, adding an edge to the mood in your relationships. You're likely to bite your room-mate's head off if your head isn't bitten off first... try to find something to laugh about to ease the tension. Those of you in intimate relationships can channel all this wild energy into passionate encounters, so avoid senseless bickering.
