Speakers eager to talk Friday about Bataan

My husband's uncle, Charles Thomas, was in the Philippines, & probably took part in the Death March. The family had several Red Cross postcards from him, where he said he
was "fine." We weren't certain exactly which camp he was in, but I believe they were moved around some. We believe Charles was put, with hundreds of others, into the holds of the "Hell Ships" & embarked for Japan. This happened as the Americans were advancing up the island. The family believes the ship was torpedoed or bombed by American forces, because they were Japanese ships. There was a small group of men who survived those shipwrecks.

Our family is in Farmington, NM, not Tijeras, NM.
