Espanola cell phone ban goes into effect

They do stuff like this all the time.

This law should be followed by law enforcement officers as well. I think they are the worst ones when it comes to talking on the cell phone. They get all pissed off when they pass by you, and yell out their windows for you to put your cell phones down, but yet they are just as guilty. They don't pay attention to what they are doing, while hauling butt, cutting off traffic, with no lights just to get to Wal-Mart. Are they going to fine eachother for being on their cell phones? I don't think so. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Good to know texting while driving is now illegal. If only driving-while-high-on-heroin were less prevalent in Espanola.

That law should be nation wide,because there are to many idiots talking while they drive and not paying attention where they"re going.Good for Espanola cith council.

Not really as I dont do and have never done drugs.Dont hang out with anyone else who does either.I just think these idiots ought to look in their own back yard before they bash someone elses!

And yes,I WAS born and raised in Espanola..Went to school there as well,Graduated from UNM and I make a pretty decent living too.Espanola is a great place to live and has it's downfalls like everywhere else.It is worse than a lot of places in NM,but it's better than most!

how can espanola be worse than a lot of other places? albuquerque is THE worst place in the state. everyone in alb can be traced back to alcohol and/or drugs. every house and apartment is basically a crack house. the first black president just got elected, but racism is alive and well here in alb. people and cops are all prejudice. i've been discriminated against just because i'm native american. so PLEASE do not say that espanola is worst than alb.

I said worse than some better than most...Albuquerque isn't one of the better ones...

Don't worry Espanola residents... the police won't enforce the law there, just as they don't in Albuquerque. Give it a few months. There are more people now talking on cell phones while they drive in Albuquerque than before the ban. It is just another un-enforceable law created by lawmakers who reason for living is to create laws with their names attached to them for ego gratification...

people talking on their phones while driving is not going to get the cops excited enough to stop someone to give them a ticket
