"a project that can respect the environmental constraints" - asphalt can do that

"They (residents) have really a long trip to get to 29 to get to Target and Lowes and places like that" a really, really long drive

Cracker Barrel - gah.
I do like Wegman's though.

Why so negative? Think about it... This will create 1500 jobs, however, not all permanent. First, you are putting a lot of construction people back to work. The dirt movers, concrete layers, builders, electricians, etc. Then once it is built, there will be jobs for many of the unemployed and more tax income for the County. There will also be more revenue for the surrounding businesses if out of town workers are hired. They will need to eat and stay in hotels and I am assuming will hit the town for some entertainment. I am glad that the County is not sitting on its hands waiting for the end of the recession.

Since there is some sort of "parkway" involved, it might be 1500 jobs by 2050 at the pace things happen around here; once the various NIMBY, Greenpeace, Sierra Club, Save the Wooly Caterpillar and Living Wage shirlltards get involved.

It's about time! Everyone complains about all the traffic on Rt 29 north and this will get a lot of that traffic off the road. Not to mention the place is a dump right now. If you go to the bridge on Bent Creek, there is usually a tractor trailer or dumpsters parked there with an assortment of broken beer and wine bottles and other things I won't mention. And take a look at Moore's creek while you are there. There is so much junk that has been thrown down the bank, including a sofa. Along the Rivanna trail behind Hardee's is more trash. It's just nasty. I don't know why anyone would take the trail in that area. New bike and walking trails will be a good thing.

Wher is County Resident? This is in her backyard and I can't believe she hasn't voiced her objection yet. Maybe she likes Wegmans.

I like the idea of a Wegmans, but can we find a place to put an ALDI in? The closest one is in Culpeper. We seem to have plenty of high-end grocers but few, if any, limited assortment discount outlets. If I'm missing one, please let me know!:)

New shopping centers don't need to be built when there are plenty of empty retail spaces already available in Charlottesville. Fill those first.

Daily Horoscope for June 1

Gemini

You have so many things buzzing around inside your head that it's virtually impossible to keep track of them all. Do yourself a favor and try to work through things in their order of priority, otherwise you'll get really irritated with the way they spiral out of control. Don't get your wires crossed, as good news is coming later in the day, with either a financial or a romantic flavor.
