From what I could see, there were 2 large trucks (Semis or Dump?), that appeared to have hit head on. I was told there was a couple of cars involved also. But, I couldn't tell from where I was.

Traffic was detoured. It looked Horrific.

It was a chain reaction accident cause some idiot in a little care decided to slam on their brakes and turn without thinking about all the traffgic behind them!

A red Fay dumpster truck going North slid into the South lane trying to not hit several cars that had just had to stop for the above mentioned idiot. An 18 wheeler loaded with squash hit the Fay truck head on. Another white Fay truck hit the ditch on the North side,, Driver of Red Fay truck was hurt badly and flown out. The impact turn the red truck completely around!!

People nEd to think about what is behind them before the decide to bow up in the road , a big truck can't stop like a little altima can!! The driver of the Fay truck was trying to not hit the other cars had he hit the cars it would have been way worse!!

Sounds like the fay truck was following to close.I know big trucks dont stop like an altima. But a Safe Truck driver gives himself enough distance to stop in a situation like this, And from the looks of those Fay trucks he more than likely didnt have any brakes to begin with...

Yeah, those trucks follow way too close. In fact, everybody drives way to close to the cars in front of them. Why? It never makes anyone speed up.

If you drive and can't stop if someone in front of you stops. You are at fault, not the person who stopped to turn. That is the law and the red truck driver will probably be cited.

Point well taken about the safe distance..But what about the drivers that allow themselves safe distance but 4 wheelers think you created that cushion for them to sneak into? Not that it is relavant in this situation mind you.And we do not know the real details but there is a lot of tailgating every where. Most graveyards hold a lot of tail gaters too..

dont bow up and stop in front of a truck if u can in any way help it and for sure dont turn in front of one, they weigh 80,000 lbs, they can not possibly stop running the speed limit, they r kinda like a train, reg size vehicle drivers need a friggin safety coarse on trucks. might wake them up. my husband drives over the road so i know to be safe as i can

Let them have the cushion. Back off that much more. You can never be in a hurry in a 74,000-88,000 lb truck. ITS Dangerous and stupid. Be cool Dont get in a hurry.

The person with the class B or class A cdls is supposed to be a professional driver. Although more than half of them isnt. But the person carrying these license has the responsibilty of watching out for the non professional ones. (4-wheelers) Its aggrivating but its part of the job.

The last time I saw a big truck obeying the speed limit on 127. They speed ann follow too closely, that's the way it is.

I too am a professional driver 35 years 3,285,000 miles accident free Thank the good Lord and a lot of Luck. And I agree a lot of trucks tailgate and speed.I disagree with it is the truck drivers responsability for the 4 wheeler. The 4 wheeler should be just as responsiable for the vehical they are in.Have any of you seen a woman driving a cadillac so close behind a big truck that when the trailer had a blow out and that big strip of rubber went through her windshield at well over 70 mph it nearly decapitated her.I have she died on the side of a highway heading for church. She would have survived maybe if she would not have been tailgating. How is the driver responsiable for that? I have seen folks eating, texting, talking on cell phone, reading newspapers, putting on makeup, watching DVD movies, shaving, having sex, writing on reports all while on the way to work or heading somewhere. It is ALL drivers responsability to be safe drivers not just the truck drivers.I believe in the drivers handbook for a license driver(regular) not CDL that they are responsiable just as much as anyone to be aware of what is around them at all times while driving.Like I said and it can be proven.Going up 127 a big truck at say 55 mph he has 300 to 400 feet between himself and the vehical in front of him..How long do you think it will take before some Knucklehead in a 4 wheeler comes along and passes him for going to slow and jump in front? Now there is no longer a 300 to 400 foot cushion between vehicals is there? Thats my point you can not blame one person it is ALL of us as a whole or all of us that drive anyway.

And this is the reason that I make it a rule to pull over if someone is tailgating me and let them by and there is always a few car lengths between me and the person ahead of me. Not claiming to be a perfect driver, just very cautious and when it comes to vehicles bigger then me, semis, dump trucks, buses, whatever I am even more cautious cause they aren't looking out for me the way I look out for the dude on the motorcycle, shoot, most of the time they can't even see me.

I hope everyone is ok, that is horrible. The whole thing could have been avoided if the person who bowed up had of thought, hey at this speed I really can't safely turn in the road let me go up here and turn around.

He was not following too close he simply could not stop! A big truck has a hard time stopping their weight regardless, poor guy was trying to not hit the other cars I was there I saw it happen.

I drive an SUV and was not speeding nor following too close and I almost hit the car in front of me!! So if I was not speeding and at a safe distance and had a hard time stopping my 7200lb vehicle can you imagine how difficult it was for the Fay truck to stop.

Further more as the daughter of a driver and granddaughter of an accident free driver for over 3 million miles, the Fay truck appeared to have lost control as he was braking which could come down to brake failure, quite possible a brake grab that turned him in to oncoming traffic.

I love how people know it all and think it was his fault, I thnk everyone should be thankful they are alive an the altima in front really needs a refresher on driving!! Not sure how the truck drivers are but I pray they are OK!!!

Bottom line, be safe, drive the speed limit, dont tail gate but epsecially dont slam on you brakes cause in the best of circumstances it may still have a terrible outcome!!!

Must of been some kind of brake issue on that truck, otherwises he never would have put himself in the position to go into oncoming traffic.

Noonespecial, how is your uncle doing? So sorry to hear about the wreck. I know this has been a rough couple of weeks for the family.
