Alfred Gilliam is a direct contributor to the high drop out rate. Pity I've never caught this piece of shit out in town.

If he is still alive and teaching, avoid Coach Vaughn Davis at Homestead at all costs! He is not fit to teach. I don't know how parents (my own included) can allow that miserable louse to have access to their children. If you are not into sports, you are only there for him to belittle and cut down. I can't believe they named the gym after that jerk.

AGREED! She is an angel. For certain one of the best teachers my children ever had.(and she does the most wonderful thing for mothers on Mother's day.)

Well,i can confirm that he is still teaching at Homestead. I had him as a science teacher and football coach in the mid 80's. Yes,80's. I don't remember him being a "miserable louse, jerk, not fit to teach",etc. I do remember that he was what i would consider a strict teacher, and i can see how people might hate him for being so.

So,being at Homestead for at least 25 years,he can't be doing much wrong or he would have been gone a long time before now. If he is ,indeed, belittling and cutting down students then he should be reported because that helps nobody.

Some of my personal favorite teachers from ancient times.

coach really isn't a bad teacher... i admit if you are good at sports and won't play for him he does seem to take it out on them, but all he does is pick them to answer questions and stuff like that, not anything bad (i was one of those people)

I had Coach Davis in the early 80's. We were dressing out in the locker room and the got a little loud. Instead of using his darn whistle and hollering at us to pipe down, or dealing with us when we came out, the creep walked into the GIRLS LOCKER ROOM and just stood there staring at us.... all in various stages of dress.... or UNdress, as the case actually was. Just stood there for what seemed like an eternity. Needless to say, it was quiet in there for the time it took us to finish dressing... We were speechless. Some of us didn't even change out of our gym clothes afterward... just put our street clothes on over them.
When I turned in my science book, as my mom and I were moving away, he asked me where I was going. I told him....(large city up north) and he told me that was where I needed to be... up there with all them *insert racial slur here*. Yep. Good ole Coach... he was a fine one alright.~sarcasm intended~

Our best teachers are ourselves. Our worst teachers are ourselves. One day those who think otherwise will eventually understand the true meaning. Until then, you haven't explored the greatness of learning.
