Moving to SC

I am trying to find a loving, christian area in which to relocate from upstatte NY. I have two children and I am by myself. I plan on making this move in the Fall and would like a pen pal who can help me with the area. If there are any New Yorkers in this area, I would greatly appreciate your feedback about Clinton.

Hi Upstate. I'm not from New York. I grew up in Clinton, SC. Listen to the story my Dad once told me.
There was an old man in a rocker outside th post offece (a scene we USED to be accustomed to seeing here). A young man obviously from other parts stopped and asked him,"Old timer, what kind of people do you have here. I'm thinking about taking a job here." The rocker stopped, he thought a moment and replied, "Well what kind of people did you find where you live now?"
The young man answered, "Those are the stupidest most hard to get along with people in the world."
The word came back from the old man, "Well that's the same kind of people we have here."
A young fellow standing nearby heard the exchange and continued to watch the old timer rock the chair. Shortly another traveler stopped and asked the same fellow, "Excuse me sir, but I'm thinking of moving my family here. The town looks nice, but how about the people. What sort of people will I find here?"
Old Rocker answered like he did with the first man, "Well son, what kind of people did you find where you come from?"
The reply came, "Those are the kindest most friendly people I could hope to find. If I hadn't needed to move because of work problems, I would have stayed right there for the rest of my days."
Old Rocker smiled and softly sighed, "Those are the same kind of folks you're going to meet up with here."
The young listener was perplexed. "How could you mislead those men like that? They're basing their decision on your advice."
Old Rocker laughed hard and answered, "There's all kinds of people everywhere. You'll find what you're looking for."
I don't know if you have moved to Clinton, but if you do, I expect you will find what you are looking for.
