Recession changing flow of NE Ind. immigration

This is a great thing. Imagine.....illegal immigrants actually leaving the US. Long live the recession. More jobs for real Americans.

I would have to disagree with all of you when you speak of such ill-informed things. It saddens me to think that so many people in this country are so ignorant to the trials of "real Americans". First of all, if you are talking about "real Americans" in the context of being born here i would bet that less the three generations ago your family was not from America. John, If you can prove that you evolved from the soil of the United States then maybe you would have a valid point. And if you are talking about it in terms of white people then you are racist and seriously transparent. All three of you speak of more jobs being avalible but let me just put something out there. These jobs that are now open, are not jobs that most Americans would fill in the first place. This is because we live in a country where people like you three think they are better then everyone else. These immigrants came to America to work these dead end jobs that most "real Americans" wouldnt work. AND, not only is it because of these immigrants that our economy was thriving, but it is, i suspect from the ideas you express, that people like you seem to be who supported our last president who got us into this mess, that we are in a recession now.

True, America is a nation of immigrants, but they came here within the realm of the laws and protocols in effect at the time. When immigration/citizenship was a goal that was worked towards, America became a better place because of it. When it is expected, demanded, etc., by waving the MX flag in my face, and labeling me a racist, thats when America will look like some 3rd world barrio.

You're theory of jobs that Americans won't do just isn't true. Since the current recession started the economy has shred 3.7 million jobs. There are plenty on Americans ti fill these jobs as long as they are not being undercut in wages.

On a final note, read up about a mtDNA strand called Haplogroup X, present in approximately 20% of Native Americans (NA). The other 80% of NA have A,B,C,or D present in their DNA and they are the groups that migrated from central Asia. The X group is found in western European's. Haplogroup X has been discovered in excavations on the east coast of America and as far south as Chile, and dated to 35,000 years ago. Seems the White Man may have come to America long before Columbus. LOL

Tess, my family came to this country in the early 1700's. We have fought in every war from the civil war to the present war. The original immigrant was a doctor that married a Choctaw Chief's daughter. You still want to talk about illegals? How about all the ones that are taking the jobs that our teens would be working in the summer and after school? Are you telling me that these teens wouldn't work those jobs? I know for a fact that they would in my neighborhood if they were available. We have teens here that want to work, that want to buy their first car and cant because the only places that hire 16 year olds if fast food places and the malls. Those jobs aren't available. You can't even go to Burger King or McDonalds and get an English speaking person. I for one am sick of it. If you come to this country, do it legally, learn the language, OUR language, get an education and be an
American. Not a hyphenated American....an American.

I really hope all the immigrants leave, not because I don't like them but because I would like to see the US without them. So many business are already closing because of the recession, so many more would close and move overseas because of the raise in wages. Shoot yourself in the foot USA!! What's so hard to understand about the word:'illegal'? What's so hard to understand about illegals sucking public services dry - on our taxpayer's dollars, when so many Americans are in need? What's so hard to understand about the violence and extended costs of these illegals, e.g., drug-distribution, gangs, the 'costs' to our society for the law enforcement to seek to contain their consequences, for the judicial system, for the penal system [where they get three sqaures a day, free medical care, free cable TV, free housing, etc]? Think of the aggregate costs to our society for these fundamental law-breakers and all of the associated costs [burglaries, armed robberies, car-thefts, home-invasions, assaults, etc, etc].
Now, think again; are we to be a nation under the rule of law, or - a nation on the brink of anarchy and chaos with no small contribution to the latter being made by the 20+ million illegals here?
We DO have a choice{s}, mine is to round 'em up, deport 'em and then to seal our southern border - from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico {at least}.
Immigration - sure, you bet, but, under our rules - the rule of law. Every other group of immigrants [apart from the Hispanics] in the history of this nation came here legally - they applied for and waited for visas, the Irish, the Italians, the Portugese, the Russians, the Poles, Vietnamese, etc, etc. Sure, America thrives on immigration - LEGAL immigration, on a precise and limited basis.
Those who show a fundamental disdain for your legal system and culture by being here illegally to begin with MUST be shown the door and bar'd from re-entry - period.

here's one for ya, my teenage son would like a summer job, but, he can't get a job:
in a fast-food restaurant,
in a landscap'n company,
in a restaurant [front or back of the house],
in a grocery-store,
in a government summer-work program {he's white and American born, so - forget it}...

If you're an example of what public schools are turning out,small wonder we're in an economic mess.'Payed'? That's a fifth-grade vocabulary word. Ironically,you backed up an arguement against illegals-there are OSHA/EPA laws concerning proper use of pesticides;employers are well aware illegals are not familiar with the regulations. Juan gets dosed with pesticide? No problem-I'm paying him cash off the books so I don't have to carry workers' comp insurance on him,so drop him off at closest ER,let the taxpayers cover his medical bill.

This is a great thing! Illegal Immigration has destroyed the ability of many American Teenagers from getting Character Building jobs and destroyed blue collar salaries at the same time. The root of the problem is the 1965 Hart-Celler Immigration Act. We need to repeal the 1965 Hart-Celler Immigration Act and go back to the immigration policy we had for the first 175 years of this country which was a National Origins Immigration policy which favored Europeans. Since 1965 U.S. law has mandated that 90% of immigrants to the U.S. come from third world nations to make up for our "racist" past. Since the 1960's our culture has coarsened, wages have been stagnant, and our public schools and healthcare system has went down the drain. We need to repeal the 1965 Hart-Celler Immigration Act to insure that the self-deportation of Mexicans from the U.S. is permanent.
