In light of recent events casting a negative light on the Village of Crestwood Illinois, do you feel that the village government is open and honest or secretive and corrupt?

I don't think that Crestwood is corrupt at all. If it was it wouldn't be the village that it is today. Just because of one event (the incident at walmart) doesn't mean anything. It could have happened in any village and would probably have the same outcome.

You've got to be kidding. The mayor we have right now wasn't even elected by the people of Crestwood. He is the son of the longtime mayor who had the village board rubber stamp his selection as the new mayor.

The police department here would send guys out at night to steal residents "For Sale" signs because he thought it looked bad that people wanted to move out.

The village has fired more than a few employees for all of the wrong reasons. A class action lawsuit should be started against them.

The current mayor is showing no leadership and refuses to clean up the mess that has become the police department.

If you don't like the new Mayor, why don't you appear at the next board meeting and let them know of your displeasure. Come next election you can slate your own candidates and run against Mayor Stranczek. And if you don't want to do that you can move and forfeit you tax return. You can control your own destiny.

Don't frighten the natives with the tax rebate idea. Any mayor could do the same thing. It wasn't Bobby that came up with the idea anyway, it was his father. Respectable candidates will come forward to clean up the situation and the tax rebates will continue. Mayor Jr. is weak and inneffective, he is vulnerable to a challenge. The city government has done nothing but fall apart since his dad left town.

If any mayor could could give the tax rebate why dont they? Thats a tough question isn't it. If anyone could don't you think all of the neighboring towns would be doing right now? Also the new mayor wasn't voted in by the townspeople because former mayor Stranczek retired and they needed someone to fill in until the next election. The board of trustees all voted the Robert Stranczek would fill in until the next election. If you don't like the way the town is being run you run for mayor next election and see how you do. Most of the people in Crestwood agree with how the town is being run and that is why former mayor Stranczek held the position for so long. Also the police department hasn't become a mess. Your basing you thoughts off of one insident that happened at walmart. In case you haven't been following that story the families case was all pretty much a lie. They're whole case was that the kids were left by themselves and they were not so I don't see how based on that incident you would be able to say that the police department was a mess.

Mike, why would the police department send guys out at night to steal real estate signs from homeowners trying to sell their houses?

The police department, fire department, public works department and recreation center are still functioning. The village clerks office is 2nd to no one. So please explain to me how you came about this comment.

I hate police I really do and if I had the chance I would try and hurt them. They all act really tough but you know what I would beat them sensesless. they mess with me for being gay and I am upfront about that and they harass me. someday I get them for that.

Dewey, You and I have debated on several occasions on the other forum.I don't believe police officers harass you about your sexual orientation. You know you are protected under law, you can file a complainant with the police officers who are bullying you around. I have a nephew who is queer and most of the family loves him just the way he is. He make a great creamed spinached dip that is loved by all of the family and a cherry jubilee that is out of this world. Keep you head up and dont let anyone make fun of your love for other men.

XCW Resident, When you used to live in Crestwood did you stay up late and drive around looking for the police steling for sale signs? Do you have proof that they did or is this just another accusation with no proof to back it up?
