Where to put Guantanamo prisoners? They're welcome in Colorado

The heck with Colorado. Put them just outside Nancy Pelosi's, Barbara Boxer's and Diane Feinstein's hometown of liberal extremism San Francisco by selling San Quentin to the federal government. California wants to close it anyway. The terrorists (oh, can't use that word) will freeze their pattooties off by San Francisco Bay and the San Franciscans, who are experienced at frozen patooties, will call it torture and give each prisoner his own solar-powered heater.
The SF liberals can open their homes to the terrorists (oh, there's that nasty word again) on the weekends, have them babysit their kids, and invite them to the Bay to Breakers run and hot dogs at Haight-Asbury. Hurry Arnold, make your pitch.

Are these people crazy?! Realtor Marilyn Snellstrom is correct. I heard on Sean that one of these Guantanamo prisoners has strange mind powers over magnetism. He'll grab the bars with the power of his mind, throw them aside, and run free across this great land.

DoHS (how apt! Homer works there too?) gets over $50 BILLION; and everyone is wetting their undies over moving 240 prisoners to the US? We spend over $50 BILLION to be "secure",-- not to mention the trillion-dollar-plus military we have -- yet this isn't enough to protect us from 240 bad guys in chains?
I am not sure if this is gargantuan stupidity; or severe clinical paranoia.
I wish we could use some of that security money to protect us from the 535 terrorists sitting in Washington who have abandoned their Constitutionally mandated duties like: responsible fiscal oversight and management; the power to declare war; and protecting us from all enemies foreign AND DOMESTIC.
In the 50s it was the commies. Now it's the terruh-ists. Please folks -- evolve a backbone and some brains; QUICK!

We cannot stand the risk of having these people in our prisons. You open up the prisons themselves to attack from all sorts of Muslim extremists, you open up the population to radicalization and you open up the prisoners themselves to white supremest gang attacks. The whole idea stinks, open a new camp somewhere like...Afganastan for them.

What? "white supremest gang attacks" Even though this would be highly unlikely, who would really care if it DID happen? Quit trying to pamper these terrorists! Do you even remember 911 and what happened that day?

I am sorry, but when did we start asking gas station attendants for their opinions on fighting terror cells? Is this journalist joking? It has nothing to do with escaping. Its about networking and brainwashing non terrorist- criminals who are eventually released. Let's leave it to the people we have trained and who have been protecting us and dismantling terror plots. He may be the President, but in reality he is not the President of my beliefs. There are two ways to look at this. Leave Guatanamo where its at Bush made a great decision.

Used to be a place called "Devil's Island". Why can't we have our own version of that for terrorists? And if some of them just happened to get "lost" enroute...well no big deal.

Completely isolated from the other prisoners, so how does this work? They will brainwash the guards and then convince these guards to pass brainwashing notes to other prisoners?

I really don’t see the problem. House them in public housing in Hyde Park and Kenwood and put the street gangs in charge of security. With the rate they are killing people the number should be under 100 by 2013 when Obama will be out of a job. He can come back home and go back to his roots as a community organizer and organize the remaining detainees into whatever community organizers organize things into.

If we can -safely?- house known terrorists inside our own borders, then why is there such a thing as the death penalty?

There is a reason the republicans think the prisoners will run free. They are afraid they will be given a fair trial and no evidence will be presented against them. How can you convict a school child who was apprehended from his classroom? You can't really use the confession obtained after years of torture. There is no evidence so none can be presented.

The problem is that these innocent people have been tortured so long, that is natural to expect they will want revenge. Since they didn't do anything wrong, how can they be held? If we let them go, what will happen. They must be pretty upset with the US.

You mean to close Guanatamo? Because BUSH wanted to close it too--that's why he released, what was it, 500 of the detainees from there?
