Steven described the circumstances surrounding the domestic violence allegations as “extremely minor,” saying it was “just a little bit of pushing or whatnot,” but said he could not get into specifics about the case, which is being handled by the CCPD. To Mr. Steven, how many people the DNSO arrested has said that very quote? What happened to them? I would expect the same to happen to Dep. Schneck. I hope he, or anybody else in this case, takes his due punishment, and not a slap on the hand, so nobody else can use “extremely minor,” or “just a little bit of pushing or whatnot,” to defend their accountability. Others will follow if it is treated lightly.

Any bets as to how lng before the paper is intimnated into removing this story and/or any reader comments.

Hats off to the CCPD officers who have the balls to cross "the thin blue line" to enforce the laws.

The Del Norte County, Online! website (not the official del norte county website of course) will soon be doing what the The Daily Triplicate wont do. They are working on it every day. www.dncounty.com

Although I don't have the exact statistics, a good majority of them are dismissed by the District Attorney.

I read the story this morning before there were any comments. I knew Stevens comment about the only pushing and shoving was going to get him in s---. sure enough....... You liberal cop haters It may have been thats all it was. The Deputy will be dealt with accordingly by the law and he will lose his job, as it should be.A very more serious consequence than if he worked in the private sector.

First of all, it is not true that liberals are cop haters. And secondly, the deputy is sworn to protect us, and so he absolutely should get more serious consequences than if he worked in the private sector.

See how they minimize the actions of officers.

Such a moron. I worked in the private sector where you could be fired for looking at the boss the wrong way. The private sector is where you get promoted by who you blow. Thank god for unions that tried to protect us from bosses without brains.

If he losses his job, he'll just go to another jurisdiction where theyll hire him because his court record/personnel file is sealed.

Most of us don't hate all cops, just the dirty ones and those of you who genuflect to said dirty ones.

See! What the hell makes cops any more special than the rest of us. Most of the time when a cop is arrested, they get put in a cell by themselves which is just wrong. They should be put in the same cells with the rest of us, so screw them!

Any physical contact against your spouse, partner, or anyone else that lives in your home is domestic violence. There is no such thing as minor pushing and shoving! This guy obviously has issues with anger. Why would Stevens trying to play it off like it's no big deal? It sounds like cops get to play by different rules than the rest of us. Violence is never okay against anyone, unless of course you are forced to defend yourself. Stevens should be ashamed of himself and the message he is sending.

I am not saying Schneck is wrong or right. I don't have the facts but what a lot of people are forgetting is that cops are in fact...human too. They do know the laws and should abide by them just as all of should. However, life doesn't always give people the perfect conditions or situations to handle. Instead of wanting to throw away and bash cops that are in trouble I think we should approach them with fairness as I am certain we would want to be treated if we were placed in a bad situation.

Hey cop-ulator, you tell me how it tasts since you're the one with the knee-pads genuflecting to cops.

Me, never did stoop as low as you profess to. I quit jobs where the boss wanted his ball licked and left that up to people like you. I learned really quick that working in private industry for bosses/companies without union representation/protection was kind of like being a masochist.

Nope, didnt promote, how about you?

You wouldn't be one of the pedophile priests/padres who also think youre above the law like dirty cops would you?

Figured you were a copulator. Too bad you didn't have to work for that retirement like most other civil servents. Thank gawd the public realizes that it's cops, retired cops and political appointees who are one of the main reason the state is broke and who have caused the problems with PERS and not the people who actually earned their wages/retirement .

And it's people like you who enable the cop haters. Without knowing if you were a good cop or a dirty one, the stench leeds one to believe it's the latter.

You tell them MOR!

I agree with absolutely everything you say!

As a "Published Scientist" I can verify that everything that MOR says is 100% correct and that he is smarter than all of you put together.

But not smarter than me...

Because I am a "Published Scientist...

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Scorpio

Today's Lunar Eclipse at the Full Moon stirs up powerful emotions during the next two weeks (as it has done since the Gemini Solar Eclipse last month), and it may not be a very pleasant experience. Are you feeling rather compulsive and obsessive? Financial issues could be a problem,, especially if they appear to threaten your sense of emotional security. Don't let jealousy or envy make you do things that will set other people against you.
