we have no shelter
in crescent city,
and there is an $1,000 dollar fine for sleeping in one's car in the city limits,
they won't even have a temp shelter in winter.
one women froze behind Safeway.
another woman was murdered in her tent,
[ a thing that may not have happened if she was allowed to sleep in her car.]
these are law abiding citizens
other wise they would be in jail warm and well fed.

Can you show me how to live? I can’t see the light.

I’m so tired of the drama, that comes with the night.

Can you teach me to be happy? Can you show me a way?

I can escape all this sorrow, in my life everyday?

Can you explain what a friend is, and show me the meaning?

Because I’m forever disappointed, by their plotting and scheming.

Can you take away my heart of stone, and teach me to love?

I’m in search of some direction, from the man up above.

Can you take away my pain? All I want is some peace.

There’s a war among us oppressed. Can you make it cease?

I know all about prison, steel bars, and brass keys.

But can you teach me about life, and how to stay free?

Can you show me what’s right, cause all I’ve know is what’s wrong?

Will you comfort me with open arms, and help me move on?

Can you forgive me for my past, and accept me right now?

Can you teach me to forgive? If so, show me how.

I wanna learn all these things. I don’t care what it costs.

and my point is:

the difference between a job and prison is
... the job won't allow visits from friends and family
... and prisons give free breakfast, lunch and dinner, on time.
thank you very much, officer, yes, It is ok for you to arrest me, hopefully just in time for dinner...

have you ever went to work cooking and for the next three weeks having no money to buy food, while the company is throwing food away. nothing like working and starving while waiting for the first check...

I know you aren't stalking the nutty b'tch...God knows she has accused enough people, including me, of "ciberstalking" her...

As for the level of distain she draws, you can chalk that up to her inability to accept responsibility for her past choices or her life's mission to protect and defend any female convicted child abuser she happens to read about on the internet..And then there is all that lying and blaming and accusing...and, of course, there is the constant revision of her life story...

I know a girl who was not homeless, but had arrived 45 minutes early for her friend to catch the bus out of crescent city and they were napping in their car for 45 minutes and were told it was illegal to sleep in their car in the city limits, and they were not homeless they were just tired from working hard the night before and getting up early to catch the bus..

I thought it was legal to sit in one's car if it is

.
1. Legally Parked.
.

2. tags are paid
.
3.licensed to drive
.

4.Insured
.
it is an invasion of privacy to stalk and torment one sitting in their private property (Their Car)

With the crime of being broke, Crime does pay more than paying a fine for being broke:

In Albany, New York
Turns out it doesn’t really cost homeless people $1,000 if police catch them sleeping in their car in Albany.

Mayoral candidate Jo Rae Perkins brought up the issue in a letter to the editor Oct. 14:“Johnny, sleeping in his car on Ninth Avenue, gets a $1,000 ticket. Johnny decided sleeping in his car was better than sleeping at Helping Hands and dealing with the bed bug issue.”

“Johnny,” whose full name is John Edward Nordman, was cited Oct. 5. He appeared Wednesday morning in Albany Municipal Court, where his penalty was reduced from $1,000 to $141.

He paid $50 of that before leaving City Hall and set up a two-payment plan to cover the rest.

Nordman confirmed that fear of bed bugs is what kept him out of the Helping Hands shelter. Shelter director Paul Barnes was unavailable Wednesday, and a woman answering the phone declined to say whether there was a bug problem.

A thousand dollars is the base fine — the amount written on the ticket — for most violations of the Albany Municipal Code, according to Police Chief Ed Boyd. It’s up to the court to decide how much a defendant will actually pay.

Another person cited the same night for the same offense,
Kathryn McCormick, had her penalty cut to $116. She asked if she could pay it off by doing community service and left the court with the necessary paperwork.

Boyd said that as a matter of course officers routinely ask such offenders to move along without issuing a citation.

Nordman, 41, said he’d never been warned by police that sleeping in his car was against the law.

Boyd said he had no way of knowing whether Nordman had been spoken to before the night he was cited.

The chief said that prior to that day, police had received complaints about people sleeping in their cars in the neighborhood around Helping Hands on Ninth Avenue and officers had been asked to check out the area.

“The police don’t write the laws and we don’t determine the fines attached to them,” Boyd said.“Officers only enforce the law as written and list the bail amount as given to us by the courts and the state.”
