Wow wrote: I agree sad story for both. John was needed here. He brought math down to a level kids understood, not everyone can follow the current math teacher. It's horrible that he crossed the line, and I'm sorry for her. But I'm also stunned with double standards. Just recently a pretty blonde female teacher had sex with a student and recieved 2 years probation? How does that work? "That works" because the pretty blonde actually had feelings for her victim and thought of it as a romantic relationship. Not agreeing with her or justifying that, but in her sickness, she really thought of it as a boyfriend/girlfriend thing. His lawyer also compared this case to Kelsey Peterson case. Same thing. No, he didn't try to run away with her, but he did destroy a hard drive from a computer to hide God only knows what and sent pornographic images and messages via his cellphone. If you were able to hear the full story and everything that happened, I think you would understand the difference a little better. I'm not going to go into any details except to say that this whole thing was about a sick perverted man who used a young girl to satisfy his sick sexual urges. Like I said, I'm not going to go into details. I hope this clarifies it for you.

Wow wrote: You know all that for a fact? Yes it's fact. Were you in court ever to hear the evidence? The whole is sad for everyone. Mostly for the victim and her family and his family. But also for the friends and students he let down. People that needed and cared about him. People also should to try to have empathy for him and that he gets the help he needs.

I agree he needs help, and he should be punished for his actions. No doubt in my mind says he should get off the hook, I was just courious as to how some other cases get away with not a lot of punishment. I think his sentencing will change him back to who he use to be.

Which is fine, but don't say we know nothing and you know everything but can't say exactly what you know.

Lets just leave it alone. Enough, it's done. Leave the familys to try to find some peace now. Time would be better spent praying for both familys, no one "won", it wasnt a contest, it was a sad horrible thing for all involved. Lets have some respect and let this die.

Wow wrote: <quoted text> So the article isn't true? The article has some "untruths." He did not apologize repeatedly, only once and that was when the judge asked if he had anything to say before sentencing and he stood up and told the judge that he realized that he "crossed a line and he was sorry to any friends and family that he hurt." That was the only apology ever made to the family or the victim. The truth did not come out via the school, as the article would have you believe, but by her therapist who then contacted the state patrol, and they are the ones he made his confession to. Those are the 2 major ones that I personally took offence to and I'm responding to you because you have been very respectful, and also since I made the comment in response to your post, you deserve an explanation. Out of respect for the victim and her family, who really just want to move on now and continue the healing process, I'm not going to post anymore. As was stated, there were no "winners" in this and it is very sad. We just need to pray for healing for all now.

Look, this wasnt some courtroom t.v. show, if you wanted to know what happened you could have went, the whole town could of went, but most people are happier to sit and gossip and make crap up, they really dont want the truth. Like someone else posted, LEAVE IT ALONE, LET IT GO PEOPLE, ITS DONE, MOVE ON TO YOUR NEXT TOWN DRAMA!
