Bloomfield Man Arrested On Charge of Child Sexual Assault

I know the young girl who was the 'victim' is how they put it. And I know hoffman. She went over there on purpose all the time and went all the way with him. She wanted it, shes a young whore, I know Mr. Hoffman was a teacher and 29 years old and the girl was only 14 but she shouldn't have pressured hoffman to let her go over there. And yes it was wrong for hoffman to agree to it. But I do believe he shouldn't get harsh charges. Everyone knows how this young whorish girl is it's her fault i dont' no why she would randomly say this. She wanted it, She did it too, Shouldn't she get in trouble too?? I hope her parents punish her for going over there thousands of time for 'tutoring lessons' she lied.

I'm sorry, but whoever you are, you have to have some crazy thoughts of your own. And it wouldn't surprise me if you're just as big of child molesting pervert as this teacher is. To think any 14 year old would be able to "pressure" any adult man is inconceivable. No matter what you say about this girl and how you say she acts, there's no way she should be considered at fault. She's 14!!! He's an adult and adults should be held responsible for their actions. I don't know this teacher, but if he's as good of a guy as you think he is, he would have kept his pants zipped. Personally, I believe when he goes to jail (with what I've heard about how statutory rapists are treated), he'll get what he deserves. I just hope he doesn't drop the soap.

You (whoever you are) have no clue as to the true situation. Read the laws about adults having sex with minors. Mr. Hoffman knew what he was doing, he WAS a teacher. For that matter how can you be sure there aren't more victims, most dont have the courage to come forward! And you better read the news again, evidence was found CONSISTENT with the victims statements, you think the police made that up? Lets see what you say when he pleads guilty and the whole story comes out, but if your not very smart (as i expect you are not) you will still continue to blame the 14 year old victim and her family and help to perpetuate the cycle of abuse and keep victims from coming out because they are afraid of ignorant people who will call the "whorish girls". no one made the girl go over to his house. so apparently she had some say in it, and wanted it. if she didnt want it she would have reported it the FIRST timme he made a move at her. but she didnt so apparently she had say in it. hoffman was my teacher and has tutored me for the past 3 years,and nothing happened. so she had to have led him on.

Wow, before you "students" start spouting off you should do some research, look up sex offenders or phedophiles, you'll see they "groom" their victims, they pick the "weakest" and exploit them.
He must be awesome and have great moral's that a 14 year old girl can "lead him on?" He is 29 for gods sakes, ever wonder if he was so great why he didnt have a girlfriend? 14 teen year olds have no say in whetehr they "want it", its the law and there is a reason for that, they are vunerable and easily swayed by ADULTS, LIKE HOFFMAN WAS! Well i guess you were lucky, maybe you weren't his "type". I for one will be glad when the court or if there is a trial starts because then the truth will come out. Like someone else pointed out they found evidence the girl said they would and i believe its been reported he admitted he had sex with the girl! He should have know better, he must be pretty stupid or hard up to have sex with a 14 year old when hes 29. He's one sick puppy if all he can mack on is a 14 year old! Even if she "wanted it" he's the adult and teacher and should have reported it to school or her parents, not the other way around! Sorry but your the stupid one. The law doesn't care if she says "yes", it is against the law for anyone over 18 to have sex with anyone under 16, whether they say "yes" or "no". Sounds like you might have a wee bit of a crush on him, good thing the law protects you because it sounds like you might have said "yes" too! Maybe he can tutor you from jail?

As a long time friend of Jon Hoffman's aka Pecker's, there's a lot of things none of you realize...the man needs help. He's sick. He should have NEVER slept with a minor, but as long as it's a female, he doesn't care. I realize there was a mutual attraction, but he is a TEACHER, a MENTOR, he was the adult and he was the responsible one. It doesn't matter whether she wanted it or not, it was up to HIM to walk away. Now all of his hard work to go to college and be the great teacher that connected with his students is affected by his decison. It's sad for both students and the community alike.
Now what's with the charges being dropped from "sexual assualt on a minor" to just "sexual assault"? Where's the justice in that?

First off whoever "disturbed" is, fighting the young lady on here shows your ignorance. She has rights; freedom of speech is one of them. Although I myself do not agree with her, that is no reason to slander her. As a mother of a little girl that will be 14 sooner or later. Also being an EX-friend of Peckers. This blindsided all of the people that knew him, the instance I heard, I was sick to my stomach, to think that I used to call him friend, makes me rethink my judgment in character. It doesn't matter if the 14 year old wanted to have sex with him, he as an adult with half a brain cell should have never even questioned it. You honestly think this will have no impact on her? As many people on here have pointed out the law says anyone under 16 does not have the maturity or experience to consent to sexual contact. How do you know she wan't threatened or coerced by him? We dont know what he did for sure except that the papers report that they have found evidence she said would be there and he ADMITTED to investigators that he had sexual contact. It doesn't matter one bit if she wanted it or not, he knew better, was a teacher and is sick in the head to even think about having sex with a 14 year old. She will carry a scar on her heart forever.
