Maybe the church should follow a cue from the Jehova's witnesses. JWs are forbidden to vote and run for and work in a government office.

Are you kidding, the Kennedy's thrive on being hypocrites of their own religion, if they weren’t, how on earth would they be elected to public office in such a liberal state? Not one of them are or were worth a damn after Bobby, and that includes ol’ Teddy, he was nothing more than a drunken lush!

There may be lots of catholics in RI, my inlaws among them, but Rhode Islanders are rabid about their independence and not being told what to do by an institution. My guess is that Patrick will continue being elected by his constituents.

(as my brother in law said, "Kennedy's are wonderful...every state should have one")

Yes, yes, of course. Just as all of America is enthralled with your personal successes and forever in your debt for your outstanding contributions to society.

Looks like Liberal Kennedy shouldn't be claiming to be affiliated with the Catholic Church! Now granted, the US Catholic Church is very Liberal compared to the Romam Catholic Church proclamations as ruled by the Vatican. But being a good little Liberal Democrat, Kennedy needs to claim some relkigious affiliation to maintain votes from the moderate factions of the Democrat party. Being a good little Liberal Demcrat, Kennedy believes in the murder of babies via abortion! Kennedy is only being true to his liberal roots! He should consider joining a more liberal church that condones abortion, homosexual marriages, homosexual priests and child pedophiles etc. Oh, maybe a quasi religious group similar to the... Episcopalians!

It is sad that any kennedy was able to procreate, but it leaves us with the ability to witness the contest between the older generation and the newer - to see which is better at ruining America. On the bright side, ted has not touched alcohol for several weeks.

Can't have it both ways. Either your a Catholic and that you believe abotion should not be a tool of polititians and that it is morally wrong in almost all cases, or your an abortionist.
I'm not taking sides although the way they do abortions is sickening and discusting.

Either you are a thinking person and if a 'Christian' who believes in the bible realize there isn't a damn thing in that book of myths about abortion being a sin and that any old man pronouncing it as such is just interested in power and control.

Patches, as well as every other Catholic, should not cannot call themselves such if they support abortion.

No matter what your opinion - pro-life or pro-choice, if you are a Catholic then the teachings of the Church come first.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Capricorn

Confusion reigns supreme today, especially when dealing with financial matters. You could get into a muddle when sorting out your accounts or when working out how much you owe someone, even though you may not notice this at the time. It certainly isn't the day for parting with large sums of money because the chances of something going wrong are very high.
