Richwood's Mayor

I can't find anyone that voted for Bush and can't find anyone that voted for the Mayor, but they are both in office.
Citizen of Richwood, WV

This mayor has totaly ignored his duty to see that wishes and instructions from city council are preformed in a timley manner.
You must remember he is not a Richwooder or even a West Virginian, but is really a liberal form New York. He takes credit for the hard work of others and is more than willing to pass off his screw-ups to others.

Proof is in the pudding for the Mayor... Sad little town with no furture of getting any better...

I don't know the Mayor's personal life and I don't think you do either, you got your info from drunks? Please take a course in spelling if you are going to continue to comment.

Who cares where he is from as long as he takes care of your town. Looks like he has did just as good as any mayor befor him and myself personally think he has did some more than others. You do not see all the rift raft hanging on the sts of Richwood and the drug dealing going on out in the open like it was a couple of years ago.

The Mayors family played a role in the early history of Richwood. I have seen pictures of prominent Richwooders attending picnics at the Baber farm. That family was well respected in the area.
We should show the same respect to Mayor Baber.

I cannot believe that anyone is able to trash someone on complete hearsay and get by with it . I do not know the mayor but it seems like he could probably bring suit against someone.Of course they didn't sign their name so how much creedance can you give to a story like that.I feel sorry for him and his family. Someone must have a big grievence against him to put all that hate in one letter.

I cannot believe that a unsigned letter would be posted on this page . That person must have a world of hurt in them to put such hateful things about someone online with out any evidence to back it up . Shame on you. I am sure he would have a valid lawsuite against you if you would care to sign your name. This is disgusting.

My motive is not coming from "a world of hurt" its because it gets old to see people like him prosper when good men and women are put on the back burner because of lack of connections. The man is a fake, his whole life is 1 big lie/scam after another and he is our mayor. If you don't believe it find out for your self. Robert Henry Baber. Look him up, education, marital status, previous jobs,....all of it, 1 big scam. But you are right, he loves to file "lawsuites" he has only had 3 jobs and was fired from all of them and tried to bring a "lawsuite" against all three which all got shot down. Oh and by the way, a nasty "lawsuite" would also bring out the nasty truth, I don't think he wants that. So now that my motive is clear, what is your motive, why are you kissing this scam's ass? Mayor Baber is more motivated than most of the people from Richwood who could run for Mayor and just don't care enough about the future of the town to do so.
We should applaud a man who did not grow up there, but still cares about Richwood and is trying his best to make improvements.
Who cares how many jobs he has had, and as it has been stated..........has lost. Sounds to me, sad to say, like a lot of the male population of Richwood.

I dont live in Richwood ,do have famiy and friends and to say the last time I was there it looked no better or no wrose than the last time . You sound like some one with a ax to grind. There are new sidewalks on Main Street, the depot is being renovated, new flowers and trees are being planted around town, a qualified man is now serving as Police Chief, and there is communication between the Mayor's office and those with the power to make South Fork Dam a reality.
Anonymous..........have you done anything for Richwood? There are several projects that need help. The Library needs a new roof and is currently trying to raise money. The pool needs repaired. Richwood Hospital is trying to raise money for new equipment as well.

Hi...I am coming home to Richwood very soon...am interested in the mayor position...when is the elections..what are the qualities needed..and such..would love feedback.

Boy for some one who lives in Columbus u sure know an awful lot about the mayor and the town of Richwood......... Keep reporting the facts. Send this INFO to the local papers and the out of town WV Newspapers. No reason to allow this clutz to make WV look bad. This is just what the NY Times is looking for. Recall. Remove. Evict. Certainly there is a way to remove this bozo from office.

Herd the newest screw up? The city can now at the will of the mayor send city workers and equipment to a private drive way or lot and clean it up at citys expense. Right, I dont type or even spell well, but I normally hire those who do, to do it in my stead.

That may not be a bad idea in all instances. My husband and I just returned from a visit to Richwood...so many old houses that need to be torn down...and abandoned areas. Would make the city a lot more appealing if all of this was cleaned up.
