I am not saying that this man is not guilty, but would the media handle it differently if he were not an educator.

coach yates would never do this. i do not believe it. he is a very Christain man and acts like it in his daily life everywhere from the classroom to the baseball field. it makes me so upset that someone would accuse him of such a horrible thing. the girl (who is in my grade) needs to find something else better to talk about.

i agree with my fellow CHS student. Coach Yates was an outstanding coach, and a wonderful teacher. He was very involved with all of the sports and cheered the teams on no matter what. He treated us like we were his own kids. Obviously the girl wants attention, but this is the wrong way of going about to get it.

Why would she lie? Why would they arrest him, unless they had concrete evidence (times, Dates, etc.) I am sure the truth will come out once they interview her and interview him as well.
They will find out the truth no matter whom is guilty of false tails, or truth

I worked with Coach Yates for all five years he has been employed at the middle school and high school. He has always acted professionally. My husband and I are good friends of the Yates and have visited them and they have visited, dined, and celebrated with us many times as well.

I find it impossible to believe these allegations.

My daughter attends this school and knows this student. There is evidence, hard evidence that there has been a 10 month relationship outside school with this student and coach. Admitted sexual activity, love letters, phone calls, witnesses putting them together in other towns. While I believe he had sex with her, I feel the student is as much to blame as the teacher as they both consented to the entire thing.

coach isnt that kind of person. yes, he likes to help us kids out when we have problems..he's just that kind of guy. he cares about us and would never do anything to hurt us. he loves us just as much as we love him. to some he is like a father, or maybe even an older brother. i have known coach since middle school and we have had an awesome relationship! we are really close. he is always there when i need someone to talk to. maybe tiffany..or however you spell her name..has been doing the same thing and whoever she told took it the wrong way. i cant believe everyone has took this this far. it really is ridiculous!!! we love you coach!!!

I've known this coach for 5 years. I have a 16 yr old daughter that totally repectes him in every way. I would trust him with my child any day of the year. It's sad that people need drama in their life so bad they jump to conclusions. Remember our legal system is,,"innocent until proven guilty". I also know the Cleburne Police Dpt tend to over act. I have seen them go after many children in this community. Seems they're going after our childrens educators now?? Children seem to be an easy target in this community. Why can't the police dpt bring in any of the "real" criminals. I know for fact the drugs that are sold on the East Side of Cleburne on just about every street corner? Why cant we concentrate on the real criminals, are they just too tough for our police? I believe Terry Powell(chief of police) should be terminated for letting his staff ruin our childrens lives and now, Coach Yates. Sometings got to be done in this town to stop all this madness..

i have known Coach Yates for 4 years, he has coached.taught and mentored my kids during this time. I hope and pray that his is a case of false accustions and that this young lady is or was seeking attention from her friends. There has been numerous cases were young lades lie to their friends about relationships to gaim attention, could this of happened in this case? There are a lot of high school girls hat think certain coaches and teachers are hot, and maybe this is a lie that went to far and has resulted in Coach Yates being put through hell.

Wether Coach Yates is innocent or guilty, the way in which the Cleburne Police hadled this is crazy. They investigated this for 15 hours amd then made an arrest. The imformation that they received by their account was from a family member that might have been told about the relationship from a friend of the alleged victim. The police will not comment on if they have even interviewed the girl. The police jumped on this like a pack of dogs, the same way that they jump on less fortunate here in Cleburne. Fifteen hours is not long enough to investigate something this serious, this a mans lively hood that if innocent has been ruined by the CPD. Did the crack investigation team at CPD ever solve the sexual assault at Wal Nart? This is all about sensationalism for the CPD. Could they have not informed CISD and put him on leave while they investigated this for a week or two? If this man is found to be innocent or if the case falls apart because the young lady is lying, i would hope that an investigation is launched against the CPD and their total mismanagement.

Have the police said there is hard evidence? Has the grand jury said there is hard evidence? Once again if the police is leaking this info,, they're should be a complete investigation upon this department!

I think this is all a bunch of lies. I have known Coach Yates since he has been at CISD from the middle school and high school. He has also came into to a resturant where i work with his family, co-wokers and friends and he is a wonderful christian man. How could he do such a thing? I just dont believe it. He treats his students with so much repect he teaches them life lessons and cheers them on in everything they do he acts as if he was a big brother or a father not a "boyriend/lover" I think this young girl is in it for the attention. I agree with the statement about the Cleburne PD they are not very thourough with there investigations they just jump on to something so they can get attention as if they fnally did something. cause we know they never get the real criminals they are always after the kids. So I hope this girl realizes what she has done. I will never look at coach yates any different just because I know he is a good man and couldnt have done this.

I can't fully understand the extreme stances some people are already taking. Although I have always been incredibly impressed with Coach Yates' conduct at our school, I feel the need to withhold an absolute opinion until the facts are able to come out. While he is certainly innocent until proven guilty, I can't approach this naively and believe that "because he is a good person" he is incapable of falling from grace. Many great people have made horrific decisions that have ruined their lives. Although I certainly hope and pray that Coach Yates has not made such a decision...he is human, and as a result, it is within the realm of possibility. I'm also disappointed in the people who are already demonizing this young girl and assuming she is seeking attention. You may be doing even more psychological damage to this girl if it comes to pass that she *has* been the victim of abuse by an adult educator. Please let the facts have time to come to light.

I understand what the teacher is saying about the female student..However, in my opinion, the CPD and the news media handled this incorrectly. In the court of public opinion, Coach Yates is "guilty" due to the negativity of the news reports and the police have portrayed him as a villain. True we are all human, as humans everyone is capable of sinning. Since the CPD and the news media jumped on Coach Yates in a negative manner without a trial and circumstances; I feel this is very unfair to him, his family, his students and his friends.

There is NO crime,, the poor man is being falsely accused! Everyone needs to wake up in this world we live in. For example,if a child were to spend the night with someone; she could do exactly the same. She could tell her parents that she was sexually assaulted by the girls dad. The police would swarm in and assume guilt just as in this case. The victim would be plastered all over the news. The victim has to prove innocence after the fact "his name is slandered into the ground." It can easily happen to anyone this day and time. Good rule of thumb to live by,,bad karma will get ya!

I grew up with Ronny - junior high, high school and church. He is a good person and comes from a good family with strong Christian and moral values. I can't believe that he would do this knowing the consequences and the effect it would forever have on his future. He's smarter than this - it just doesn't make sense to me.

Ha Ha,, you don't know our police department..Its a sight to see on a fri or sat night how they blaze down a crowded road, in multiples of 3 or more squad cars to surround a mischievious kid on a bicycle. I know kids can be mischevious, but dont put other lives at risk just play "ROBO COP". Terry Powell, stop this madness!

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Capricorn

Take things slowly and all will be well. However, you must resist a tendency to be perfectionist over things that don't really matter, otherwise you'll never finish the chores. If you're busy with Christmas preparations, you'll have to control a nagging feeling that you've got to compete with the way other people have done things in the past.
