These people should have their drugs and money returned to them All the drugs pictured above should be legal. A group of 20,000 very serious policemen, prosecutors and attorneys have formed a group to legalize ALL drugs, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (http://leap.cc ) They see what happened when we legalized alcohol in 1932 as a good example of how drug legalization would work. We can't stop drugs. They're sick of chasing drug users and sending innocent people to prison for decades just because they like to get high. This foolish war on drugs has lasted 37 years and cost us over a TRILLION dollars and we are not an inch closer to stopping drugs. How many millions of Americans are we going to lock up in prison for decades? Legalize ALL drugs now. Mark Montgomery boboberg@nyc.rr.com

I happen to know all three of these guys and they are then most mellow, creative, friendly and vibrant people I have ever met in my 41 years. What have these cops ever done but arrest people. What kind of a crazy f'd up world is it where people can't just be free from such oppression? How much did this little operation cost, anyway? I hope it was worth the hundreds of thousands of dollars of OUR money you jerk-offs spent. Rot in hell.

To the two posters above... you CAN'T be serious! Mark, um...innocent people going to jail? They were selling ILLEGAL drugs... thus they are GUILTY of breaking the law. And to Marzaphigar... you don't have kids do you? If one of your kids died from overdosing on some of the drugs provided to them from these mellow, creative, friendly and vibrant people that you know so well, I bet you wouldn't question how many thousands of dollars are spent trying to stop them from dealing! and you said, "what have these cops ever done but arrest people." Go ahead and take another "hit" dude...duh... that's what cops do... arrest people who break the law.

These people only indulge with their friends. They experiment responsibly and are some of the smartest, creative, and kindest/most hospitable people you will ever meet. There are, of course, addicts in this world who have little to no control/discipline over their action and habits, but these 3 aren't them. How dare anyone accuse Marzaphigar of being a loser or a burn out. Even if he was, it's completely irrelevant and far out of line. He's someone who is honestly admitting the goodness of a few people who happen to enjoy expanding their consciousness. Simply trying to declare they are not like the rest of stereotyped or addicted 'drug' users.

They are down to earth, independent self sufficient, young individuals with hearts of gold.

Take your issues of drugs up with the idiot who is ruining you or your families life, not the few guys you don't know at all, who aren't hurting or disrespecting anyone.
You don't have to agree with the use of drugs but do not stay ignorant to the benefits of mind altering substances when used responsibly. Do not insult those who have experimented and have caused no harm. It is their body, mind, life, and mission. Not yours.

If you want to complain about someone who sells you drugs that harm and kill, yell at your doctor.

You say "chill out " ?? I can bet that means smoking a blunt and popping an oxy, in your world. My idea of chilling out is making the world a better, safer and stable place.... like watering plants, walking my dog, saying please and thank you, helping an old lady with her groceries, having talks about current events and how to deal with them..... not sitting at home listening to Black Sabbath popping and smoking drugs and blaming the world for your situation !!! Get a clue and stop putting holes in your cerebrum !!!

There is obviously a misunderstanding here between those who sympathize with these 3 kids getting busted and those who think they got what they deserve. Well, in a sense, they did get what they deserve (not paying taxes isn't conducive to this economy). But in another sense, people who overdose on drugs can only blame themselves (unless its some bizarre case of someone else intentionally drugging someone else to the point of overdosing), so you can't really blame the dealer for the user's actions. There is no clear cut solution to the drug problem. These 3 kids were some of the nicest, most generous people I've ever come across. Its just sad they had to be incarcerated when throwing dealers into jail isn't the solution to the drug problem.

Look boy, you can rationalize their behavior anyway that makes you feel better... at the end of the day ..they are criminals that add to the destruction of our society..I could care less how sweety pie nice they are !!! I would be nice too all tanked up on extasy and ketomine !!! For God's sake... wake up out of your coma and see the reality of it all !!!!

And throwing pimps in jail wouldn't end prostitution, but it would be a step in the right direction. Lives are ruined by drugs - the users themselves and almost anyone close to them. Or are we supposed to believe they're just mail order pushers responding to requests and don't market their product in any way by giving a little freebie here and there to get someone hooked? Bury them under the jail.

Drugs cause a profound disillusion of reality and causes judgement to decrease to a level that of a child. Drug use increases sexual indiscretion and abuse. Drug use takes away ones inhibitions and therefore renders a person dangerous and unstable !!!! Now what p.s. also known for many and various crimes

Patrick,

Get off the internet and iron some more Ralph Lauren Polo Shirt, ya WASP. Then go to Church where you'll learn more about why sex, drugs, and homosexuals are evil.

Get with the times. States are decriminalizing marijuana like wildfire. And guess what? This would actually HELP you! Why? Because less of your taxes are going to keeping peaceful individuals such as these three men locked up behind bars with murderers, rapists, and thieves.

Newsflash: the war on drugs, as of now, is an utter failure. The DEA may be smart enough to catch guys like Steve and his roommate, but good luck getting drugs out of our society as a whole. The entire wars on drugs only allows the violence of the cartel and drugs lords in Latin America to persist. Without drug legislation, the government could tax marijuana. On top of making tons of dough and boosting the economy, this would cut back on the threat of war that has been plaguing Mexico due to cartel dominance.
You say it's a step in the right direction--I say that's a lot of BS. The only way to end the war on drugs, is to put more money into rehabilitation, medical treatment, and drug education, rather than cracking down so hard on guys who are at loose ends with the economy, and just trying to get by.
