Hi
My memory must be getting bad because i was at the school between 1970 and 1975 and can't recall you. Anyway, i was in Mortimer (my younger bro' Paul was also in Mortimer, but left the school 3 or 4 years after me). I'm still in the UK; Coventry, but hoping to move to Shropshire, soon. How's Germany treating you? It's one of my favourite countries (underrated by most Brits, i think). My sister lived there for 8 years and i visited many times.
if you want to reply my email is nigejfisher"hotmail.com

Alan Thorne was my Science Teacher and I will never forget his wit. I commented on his sarcasm one day in class, stating it was the lowest form of wit. He responded by sayin " used on the lowest form of life"
H lived a long life by the looks of it. He was good freinds with James Lovatt who became a minister in the church in Bournmouth. Mike McAvoy

I was in Dudley house from 1965 to 1970. The teachers I remember were: Gordon Plaice (house master)- metalwork, Mike Chopping - Technical Drawing, Barry Harper - English, D. A. Williams - History, James Lovatt - Scripture, Alan Thorne - Maths, Mr Matthews - Biology. I seem to remember that some of these taught more than one subject.

I'm intrigued by Darren Gascoine's dates. This must have involved an element of time travel!

We spent three years there from 1971-74, in Dudley house. The military style training was invaluable as we both joined the Royal Navy and found basic training easier than at boarding school. Steve now lives in Renwick, South Island NZ working as an engineer on the Interisland ferries. Andy lives in Australia, after 10 years in the middle east and works in admin in Aged Care. We remember Mr Plaice, Mr Walker and the French teacher, who we remember as Pete.......a scout leader.

Sorry Martin, but without absolute proof, you cant just state that Peter Germain was having sexual relations with pupils, I was at the school from 1972- 1976, I used to work for Peter Germain on saturdays with another pupil, Trevor Buck, Peter Germain would take us to a house in the village to work where a woman lived, her husband was often away, she would give us jobs to do then she and Peter would spend the rest of the day inside the house, we suspected an affair, but perhaps that was our imaginations running wild. I also remember, Paul Slevin, Gary Sesko, Martin Fisher (deceased), George Houguez, Peter Syrat to name a few, I can be contacted on p3t3r35@hotmail.com

I was there around 1958/59 and have fond memories of the place. Good grounding for any boy, if there were more schools like it today then the youth would have more respect and learn how to survive. I was in the school orchestra (Oboe), football team and was in Dudley house. I remember Mr Elkinsgreen (Sport), Mr Foy (Music), Mr Breeze and am still trying to remember.

Just found this forum, was in Mortimer House 68 to 71 ish, younger brother Paul was also in Mortimer 70 to 74. Was not good for much at school other than getting in bother. Agree with Martin, some of the teachers were real sadists.
Can handle any thing in life after that place.
Anyone feel free to get in touch.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Libra

It's another day when tensions are rife and you feel stretched to breaking point. You might even totally lose your temper with someone, instead of merely snapping at them as you did yesterday. Mars stomps into reverse today, so it would be better to clear the air now with a row, and then forget all about it, rather than allowing bad feelings to accumulate and fester inside you.
