Who but the union doesn't want Walmart? History: railroad's changed towns: moved and closed stores. Walmart gives jobs to people that WOULDN'T be working, pays wages, pays taxes, allows us to be self respecting citizens: I say welcome to Woodland Walmart. Stores will change with items not competitive. Woodland's City can afford to build infrastucture: things they need for our safety. Public buildings and safety 24/7. A new jail would be great.

I welcome Walmart. It will be an asset to Woodland.
It will pay more in taxes than the city fathers get in income.

AND I said: Boy do I agree with you there. Walmart in Woodland. Think what the town could do with the money they bring in. We might even start calling ourselves a city.

I think the unions frighten us like the politicians...WHATEVER they can get they want; when they don't get any kick backs they DON'T WANT IT.AND they don't get kick backs from Walmart and the people don't pay union dues.

HAS anyone actually talked with the Union's about why they picket Walmart and not all the other stores? Has anyone ever considered how much the union and large businesses pretty much control what we think. Did you ever wonder what schools would be like if there were no unions? Ace

Woodland is in need of a place to get items at a reasonable cost. The local businesses have a monopoly and they know it, so they can raise the prices higher then needed, rip of the citizens, and are now running scared because they will have competition. They can either drop prices or close. Again, the more products sold in Woodland will result in more taxes to the city, and less taxes we will have to pay for what infastructure we need to survive!!

I've lived in Woodland for years. And had to put up with a 20 mile drive north or south for decent, affordable shopping. It will be great to be able to support my town by spending a majority of my shopping dollars here for a change. I, for one, can't wait.

MAYBE YOUR SHOULD COME TO WOODLAND AND SPEND A NIGHT IN ONE OF THE MOTELS. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR QUIET AND YOU THINK WALMART BRINGS NOISE...WAIT UNTIL YOU HEAR THE TRAINS, OR THE WAKE BOARDERS, DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU ARE MOVING TO; OR THE SHIPS ON THE RIVER. IT IS NICE, AND PEACEFUL; BUT THE ONLY THING WALMART MIGHT DO IS HAVE THEIR BUILDING BLOCK SOME OF THE TRAIN AND RIVER NOISE FROM SOME OF THE AREAS. AND I'VE NEVER BEEN IN A WALMART PARKING LOT WHERE I WAS AFRAID IN THE DARK. Judy

Wallmart sucks, and this town will get exactly what it deserves when all of the downtown business like the hardware stor go out of uniness. To think that this is the same toen that kept Lowe's out makes no sence to me. I will be voting against every incumbant on our lame city council!

You should learn more about your local government, city council has nothing to do with walmart building here.If you dont like walmart dont shop there but dont drive away lower prices for our elderly.
