Geeze, Does Jennifer Upshaw ever leave her desk to write an article? Most of the stores she menthions are either still there, or were there before and are merely returning. Other than the restaurants, only a few of those she listed are new.

And punks and lowlifes from Richmond to come to the easy pickings of liberal, naive, white-guilt filled Marin.

I think the mall will do well and be an asset for the community. The restaurants are key.

The Developer is missing a major opportunity if they don't add a book store, without one it's just another regional plain vanilla Mall.

At least no one claimed to be "excited" by the new vendors of useless crap that are opening.

Most of these stores will be gone as the Bush Depression continues its march throughout the American economy.

No one wants to go there as it's a hang out for the anchor baby barrio brats that are coming of age.

The mall should give free rent to a used book store to encourage reading and make the book store economically sustainable.

Seriously, to all you COMPLAINERS. If you are passionate about a bookstore...go to the one you frequent already, because they are becoming Dinosaurs just like newspapers. It is not likely I retail bookstore can survive in this economy, let alone a new "high rent" mall that Northgate has is transforming itself into.

As for kid's play structures...I completely understand that need, as I frequently take care of a newborn nephew myself. Northgate has its share of kids junk already (in Guest services)...let alone kids can run wild in the Food Court.

If I want a night out at a restaurant, please do NOT put a kids play structure in it! We have seen enough cheesy-ness at Northgate in the 80's and 90's...and we are thankful that it is changing into something completely DIFFERENT!!!

LOL. I remember what a big deal Northgate was when it first opened in the early 60's. My mom used to love to shop at the Emporium, but she wasn't white :)

I,m with you bro. High priced crap,Canal day care and the american retail dream warmed over yet again.
Plus the new high rents they are charging that place wont last 2 months past Xmas.

I plan to shop there pretty often once these new stores are in. I love H&M and Kohls -- nice things without paying and arm and a leg.

And yes, I'm white. And I have no problem with ethnic diversity putting money back into the community.

Take that, conservtards!

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Sagittarius

A loved one gets hold of the wrong end of the stick today, causing endless hassle and fuss. They're likely to get upset in the process, so you have to calm them down, and that could lead to a squabble. You may also have to cope with discord when discussing family matters, with certain people getting bogged down in daft details that you think have nothing to do with the main issue.
