And the loving Christian South strikes again...

I find it such a shame that an advanced, intelligent country such as the USA still harbers such hateful people who are prejudice enough to commit hate crimes.

You more than deserve to have such a thing happen to you and your loved one. There is no one more deserving. Stupid prick.

Speaking of forensics, have you heard that it's possible (or might be possible, I'm not sure) to put microprinting on the firing pin of a weapon so that the spent casing can be matched to the firearm ?

Cartridges can be matched to a weapon. There is no data base if that is your question. Recovered bullets are collected into a national data base.

I know that there's no database, but I do think microprinting the firing pin is a good idea. I don't see why anyone would be against that.

I know there is no legal requirment yet to do that, and maybe there should be.

Bullets are often matched to the weapon by comparing the grooves left on the bullet from travelling through the barrel. But merely changing the barrel in a gun will easily defeat this method.(Or just use a shotgun.)

You are so right. That's why the U.S. should, once again, make homosexuality a crime, instead of coddling you mentally challenged, dangerous radicals. Society shouldn't have to put up with your bullshit. You people exemplify the word "hate."

Perhaps you would be more comfortable living in Uganda or Iran. Just buy a one way ticket.

Suppose someone just changes the firing pin?

I am not an expert, but I believe the firing-pin shell casing is matched by firing another bullet and making a comparison under the microscope. Each firearm will impact the primer is a slightly different position.

One can change any and all parts on a firearm. They're designed to the user is able to do that. But I think most weapons used in crimes are used by people who are not that knwledgable in firearms to do that.

Putting microprinting on the firing pin would help in identifying a weapon. You are never going to make it 100%.

It's funny that on all the cop shows on tv over the decades, I have seen many episodes where a cop tell's a suspect that the ballistics lab matched the weapon to the bullet in the victim, but I have never seen an episode where the criminal changes the barrel so there won't be a match, and then hands the weapon to the cops to run a ballistics test on.

I did see one good episode on L & O though about fingerprint science.

Are you aware that there is NO scientific evidence whatsoever that each person's fingerprints are unique ? It's merely been an assumption that courts have accepted as fact.(No, I didn't get that from L & O)

btw, speaking of fingerprints being supposedly unique, I remember being taught in school over the years that no 2 snowflakes are identical.

Now considering the uncountable number of snowflakes that have fallen all over the world over the years, what do you think the odds are that someone would find 2 identical snowflakes ?

Well, scientists HAVE found identical snowflakes. The odds seem impossibly high, but scientists have found several examples of identical snowflakes.

http://www.newsbiscuit.com/2010/12/03/scienti...

Now if THAT is possible, it's certainly possible that fingerprints are NOT unique to an individual as has always been assumed.

Your statement is illogical, it's forensics that will put the surviving female subject behind bars.

I'm sending you free movie tickets for "Batman", make sure you use them at Midnight.

When someone close to you dies, come back to us for sympathy and see how much you get. I will point and laugh at your pain. How can you be so INSENSITIVE to another person's suffering and anguish? How can you gloat at a young girl dying?

"Broad"? What year are you calling in from? 1940? Does your zoot suit fit well when you drive around in your Packard?
