Mama Mia's is arrogant, expensive and has the worst marinara sauce I've ever had any place. It's noisy and they feed you out of dog bowls. It has everything going for it except food, service, atmosphere and price. Enjoy.

I have eaten at Mama Mia's too and I was not too thrilled about it. I agree with you about the marinara sauce. Personally I dont think it is worth the price you pay.

If you want a fantastic meal go to the Astor on Leopard. I know it is not on the south side so it can't be good , but for once put your prejudices on hold and try something different .their steaks are to die for and the green goddess dressing is wonderful.and for mexican I suggest enriques on kostoryz

The Astor... really? I went there once long ago and had an unpleasant experience. I guess I'll have to give their steak another chance next time I'm in town.

Ted and Mallory must have gone to MM on the wrong night b/c I consider it the best or second best italian restaurant in town. Luciano's on N. Alameda near Six Points across from First National Bank is the other contender for top italian restaurant in town by my opinion. But, I think MM only takes cash. But elijah's right, Taqueria Garibaldi is the way to do it down town in the morning!

I've "lived" here for 6 years! We have yet to find a "Mom and Pop" place that one would like to go to just to eat out. Just has to be clean, pleasant and consistant. Don't tell me about any Mexican restaurant since all the foods the same and all the dishes have the same low quality ingredients. The last time I went to one I looked down and realized I served my dog (she gets dry dog food with pumpkin) better looking food. Been to lots of places. Anyone know such a place?

A few years ago a newspaper maybe from San Antonio had a story about the cuisine here. I recall it was how they fried everything that would move. Some places smell like they serve deep fat fried fat and the people who visit are so fat I know that must me the menu.

Best food in Corpus Christi can be found in Dallas or Fort Worth.:)

Vietnam on Water Street is the best in the city. Most places do smell like deep fat fryers gone wild.
