Received this today from the HOA.. "The office has received a number of calls regarding brown/black water. We have been advised by the Harriman Water Department that a Fire Department Flush was being done. The Water Department has advised that residents should run their water until the water turns clear. Questions should be directed to the Harriman Water Department." I can't tell you how many times this has happened. Don't drink the water!!!

So Sad

I just drove through Lexington Hill, I had sold my unit 2 years ago and what I saw today was so sad. The place is a shambles, it looks as if it had been abondoned, when I first moved there I loved my condo, my neighbors and the area then a new board took over and actually quite rapidly the place began to deteroriate, the board members enforced petty ridiculous rules and overlooked and ignored serious issues, and any large scales work that was done was usually done to the board members units first. The Lexington Hill HOA has ruined the quality of life there and also the over all condition. The HOA fees are criminal and NOTHING is done. If you disagree just drive through and look at the condition of what was once a great place to live. I am sure a real estate agent will disagree and argue my point, my response is, just drive through. Good job HOA, enjoy the misery you have created

I guess 400 dollars a month for common charges includes only 8 chairs at the pool

I note that it's been a few years since anyone commented on this page. I am thinking about moving to Lexington Hills, and I wanted some updated reviews. Can anyone help? Thanks!

I apologize; I should have jumped to the end. I now see recent comments. Thanks!

I am looking for a reasonably priced rental in the area. From the pictures, Lexington Hill looks well kept. I read most of the comments on this site, and they are mixed. Are there any buildings that are more desireable than others? Any I should stay away from?

I agree entirely with So Sad. I owned at LH around 2005, moved because it got too expensive, moved back as a renter a few months ago and moved out ten weeks later. What a change for the worse! HOA completely ineffectual, could do nothing about a guy above me who lets his kids bounce a basketball indoors at all hours. If you own there, you can hardly give the place away if you want out. People are trying to sell their units for half of what I sold mine for five years ago.

Mike, the tennis courts are at the first entrance by the pool area and the club house is building 17 where the HOA is.

I'm considering moving to LH and I see a lot of mix reviews. Overall is it a nice place to live or should I be more inclined to look some place else?

It went downhill for a little while but I see it starting to turn around again. Prices also dropped drastically in the complex because of foreclosures and short sales so it could be a good time to snatch one up. The only thing I would watch are the Homeowner Fees. They are at $400. The property went many years without any work done to it and now the residents are paying for it. The residents (as in any condo or townhouse complex) are paying for the other homeowners who aren't paying their fees. If I had to do it again, I would skip a condo and buy a house.

I moved to lexington Hill a few month ago i love it here. Everyone is nice the only problem that i have is the HOA fees which is $400.00.And i do not see any upgrades being done. So the Hoa Management here at lexington are just taking our money what a bunch of ripoffs. Is their anything i could do as a home owner about thig.

As a RealtorĀ® in the area, I just closed a client on a Lexington Hill's condo. Lexington Hill is a nice community and though this was a lengthy short sale process, it was a good one. The location is excellent for commuters and close to major shopping.

I just moved here in April 2012. First I will start with complaints. My apartment was very dirty when I moved in. However, I am renting from the owner and I am sure this is not representative of all apartments. Secondly, I live on a top floor unit and during this particular bad summer, I come back from work to enter a sauna and the wall A/C units barely make a difference in the main living area. The bedroom does cool off nicely. Done with complaints.
The community is very nice itself. After moving from NJ right outside NY, it is a welcome change. It is quiet and all my neighbors are extremely friendly. Shopping is close by and there are some real gem restaurants (particulary Mina's if you like spanish food). Lots of great views and you have Harriman state park right near by.
I would suggest it here. It is nice from my experience so far.

You'd be very happy there. Its peaceful and reasonable. Train and bus access are very close. lexington hills is a very nice community. It is safe and very well taken care of in every way inside and out. The viws alone are breathtaking. It is a mix of young and older families. It is convenient to both bus and train transportation and the thruway. It is very close to all types of shopping and many houses of worship. It is located in one of the best school systems in orange county. My son is currntly selling his two bedroom condo, It is completely renovated with all upgrades and has a beautiful view. He is only selling due to an expanding family. He has been very happy there and his no complaints. If you are interested in seeing it please contact me at mary.setteducati@hotmail.com
