Our governments are wasting hundreds of billions of dollars on pushing this so called "green energy" fiasco that is actually destroying jobs world wide.

"WHEN is a job not a job? Answer: when it is a green job. Jobs in an industry that raises the price of energy effectively destroy jobs elsewhere; jobs in an industry that cuts the cost of energy create extra jobs elsewhere.

The entire argument for green jobs is a version of Frederic Bastiat’s broken-window fallacy. The great nineteenth century French economist pointed out that breaking a window may provide work for the glazier, but takes work from the tailor, because the window owner has to postpone ordering a new suit because he has to pay for the window."

It seems of late almost every green energy company with government subsidies has gone bankrupt. All that money invested and the promise of all those green energy jobs gone.

"Contrast that with news from the United States that, according to a report from IHS Global Insight, the cheap shale gas revolution now in full flow has created 148,000 jobs directly within the gas industry and – by making energy cheaper – has created at least another 450,000 jobs elsewhere in the economy. By 2015, the total impact of shale gas will be 870,000 new jobs, says the report."

It is time the government gets out of the business of trying to create jobs and pick winners and losers in our economy. Their record is abysmal.

So they will have pink lungs when they're so far in debt that they will be just another Weimar Republic.
Lets see here?$Five trillion$ of debt in the last three years, and just how much of that has gone to failed "green energy" firms??? But by golly they may have pink lungs! LMAO

If Green energy worked? The private sector would be all over it! So they could profit from it! Now wouldn't they?

You probably support the oil companies more than I do, with all the gas and electricity that you purchase to heat and cool your mansion and drive you fleet of autos.

The greens are not interested in any one's health. They are merely out to get their own agenda passed. If they were actually concerned with people's health DDT would still be available, CAFE standards would disappear, etc. If the greens had their way we would all be living in huts with no heat or running water or food.

I think you are confusing me with your buddy SOCIOPATH here, I am not the one driving an oversized F750 with antlers for a hood ornament and a couple of rifles in the rear view window...<:-)=

If you and your kids are healthy today, thank a green.

The smog laws alone saved millions of lives and prevented untold human misery.

Don't you remember the olden days when you could see an old clunker 10 miles away by the plume of black exhaust coming out of it's tailpipe...?

Can't you imagine what the quality of our air would have been like today had that been allowed to continue...?

Are you so confrontational first thing in the morning because you got up on the wrong side of your bed again or is it that your hemorrhoids are acting up...?

Yet more proof that green energy kills jobs.
GM will be laying off 1300 workers due to lack luster sales of the most subsidized car in all time, the Chevy Volt. Some estimates put the cost of all subsidies at $250 per Volt.

It already has been proved beyond any shadow of a doubt in Euope, that these so called "green jobs" destroy more jobs than they create!

It looks like a good idea. Would any of this green technology exist if it were not for government mandates and subsidies? Without governments regulating mpg standards and subsidizing the green energy I think that most of it would disappear. None of it is viable enough to stand on it's own.

Rich Lowry makes a valid point in his piece at NRO.

"And oil companies will pay the federal government for the privilege. Imagine if Solyndra had given the feds $500 million to build its solar-panel plant in California, rather than the other way around. At the same time the Obama administration has thrown billions of dollars at green energy — the president’s latest enthusiasm is algae — it has denied the government billions of dollars of revenue from new leases."
http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/292427...

Here we have an industry where the government could be collecting a lot of tax and what do they do? Instead of seizing the opportunity to create jobs and bring some badly needed revenue into the government coffers they blow billions on the green energy scam. And you wonder why people don't trust congress.

A lot of great technology and other great things we take for granted today would not exist "were it not for government mandates and subsidies."

Just like anything else, once more and more people begin to see the benefits of green energy they will demand it and it will definitely stand on it's own.

We must remember there was once a time when people didn't see the benefit of the "horseless carriage" nor the airplane...
