put the kids in the back seat so it is safer??? not in this right? looking into the back seat caused this, more from sacramento when they figure out what for us to do next, so they can sleep at night and we have people crashing because of it. think about the Vehicle code book a minute and bet there are more of these dumb rules. And don't give me the it saved the childs life, no being in a 4x4 uilt for the run she did was what saved their lives nuff said

I was involved in an accident similar to this, when the driver took his attention off the road to deal with two bickering children. Fortunate, as in this case, the only damage was the car involved. I had a concussion and some scrapes, but all ended well with time.

Parents - if you can't drive with children in the back, then take the damn bus. Many of you are worse than drunk drivers with your kids in the back.

I can only hope that the DMV will pull her license.
What the heck was she thinking. If she was at home on I 5 this could have been real bad.

Don't ever take your eye off the road. If you need to hit or discipline your child pull over or take the child to K-Mart.

Not only do i hit my kid to discipline him, i take him to k-mart to do it. Gets the point across better that way!

Great...another unobservant/distracted driver sharing the road with me. UGH!! There are days when I just shudder at the idea of having to get behind the wheel. Especially with rainy & windy weather hitting in the valley during this time of year drivers need to be much more aware. Do put on your seat belts, do turn on your headlights, do use turn signals & do give your fullest attention to the road. Why do I follow all these rules? Cause the bozo next to me might not be!!!

Hm. Seems like this is far more distracting than talking on a phone. Guess which one is illegal, though?

Where was it that she bought her driver's license?

Oh yeah, the school of brainless driving for the legals and illegals alike. We seem to have a lot of graduates from that particular driving school around Chico.

She was a nice woman who got distracted just like we do in our cars each and everyday by simple things and overcorrected. She instantly got her child out of the car and made sure he was safe before tending to herself and tried to call her mom right after. Also the child in the back seat saved that childs life the whole front of that suv was smashed to the point where i'm surprised she didn't get more hurt. Just want to say to the people who stopped on the freeway, that thank you i know we have good people in Chico and you proved that by showing you care. This can happen to anyone and i'm grateful that she is ok, she defiantly has someone looking over her.
