well, this would mean within city limits. good thing the rb patient collective is outside of city limits. although, cities and counties can not over-ride state law, so they're basically wasting their time and the county/city funds on this issue.

you people who say that they dont want potheads and dope store in thier town should visit some hospitals they should talk with some people with cancer or parkinsens or the long long list of illnessess that the medical community can not help beside give them huge mounds of other drugs one for this one for that then one for this ones side effect and that side effect. these people did not ask for the pain or suffering but they do ask for a few moments in their lifes that are torn apart to be decent! and although most people refuse to belive it marijuana does help in many ways look into it more! they dont just sit arround smoking pot they cook with it make tea and rubs they dont get "high" they feel better!!!!!!!

SO...lets make those who DO need it, follow the law and act responsibly, suffer because there are those who don't follow the rules...Wait...this is Tehama County isn't it? which means it doesn't really have to make since...So...why not ban alcohol within the city limits also? Hey, just following the train of reasoning, or lack there- of.

I just wanted to comment about the pot raid that involved Ross Rottmann. Approximately a month prior to the police coming and pulling up all of the plants, 2 police officers showed up at the Rottmann residence to inspect the garden, one of the officers was a formerly with tagnet, and now he is a patrol officer who on this day had a female officer that he said in his own words he was "training". They both looked over the garden thoroughly, counted the plants. Ross was in Ukiah at this time, It was myself and Ross's son that were home at the time. We called Ross on the phone and the officers questioned him on the phone, as well as Karl and myself. The officers said that he needed to call his boss to see what he wanted to happen. When the officer got off the phone he said that this garden was in compliance with the laws and that his boss and himself were in complete agreement and we wouldnt haft to worry about them being back this year. If this garden was so illegal then why did they wait an entire month before they came back and pulled it up, after lieing and telling us we had nothing to worry about. Also why did they smash and destroy the cameras, with or without the garden home security isnt illegal, and what happened to innocent until proven guilty, and why were you officers looking for illegal narcotics if you were there to get rid of this very illegal garden that took you a whole month to decide how illegal it was. We are suppose to trust our police, sorry you people truly scare me.

It looks like the people of Red Bluff need to elect a whole new city council if they wish to live in a free country.

Has anyone sent the city council a copy of the state medical marijuana information...or are they just to closed minded to read it?

RED BLUFF - A divided Planning Commission on Tuesday night sent a controversial marijuana ban on to the City Council for its consideration.
A 30-minute public hearing that drew testimony from seven self-described patients ended in a 3-2 vote to recommend adoption of the ordinance, which would prohibit medical marijuana dispensaries, collectives, cooperatives and cultivation of pot.
Commission Chairman Doug Dale and Commissioner Greg Latourell opposed the ban, while commissioners Jean Moran, Andrew Christ and Kevin Fitzpatrick supported it.
In his presentation to the panel, City Attorney Rick Crabtree cited a recent state appellate court ruling, which sided with the city of Claremont in its prohibition of a marijuana dispensary under its zoning code. And Planning Director Scot Timboe advised "over the past few years" the city had been made aware of home pot gardens with fences too high, barbed wire, "illegal structures" and video cameras.
While marijuana remains illegal under federal law, California legalized medical pot for qualified patients under Proposition 215, known as the Compassionate Use Act of 1996. Senate Bill 420 in 2004 established statewide guidelines for those people with a doctor's recommendation.
Patient John Prinz, who said he has had five back surgeries after being injured at his job at a lumber mill, questioned the commission's authority to rule on the matter.
"Why are you guys trying to be doctors here?" he asked. Prinz argued that medicinal pot is far less harmful than controlled substances, such as OxyContin.
"Marijuana saved my life (and) I don't take those pills anymore," he said.
Curtis Parker said he's suffered from such maladies as grand mal seizures and grows a small amount of medicinal marijuana.
"The state of California allows us to do this, so why are you fighting it?" he asked.
Sharon Teague told the panel that using marijuana, including in tea, kept her from becoming violently ill.
THEY TOOK THE RIGHTS OF REAL PATIENTS
We have to stop this, they are breaking State Law.
score another one for the gun-toting alcoholic redneck city/county.

this is such BS. they are taking away our rights, walking all over us and rubbing it in our faces. this needs to stop NOW.

p.s.
thanks for the update.

Mr. Prinz:

I had my medical re-evaluation this week. I spoke with my doctor regarding everything going on here in Tehama County. He said that it is absolutely illegal what they are doing (in terms of bans rather than setting legal limits), and if he had more time, he would be more than happy to become an advocate for our county. Unfortunately, he has worked his butt off to get trinity county where they are today (another home to the 'good ol boys), and he also works in an ER, so his time is spent.

I think we need to get a nice group of advocates together (whether it be patients and/or doctors), think this through and present it in terms that these 'good ol boys' can understand.

We can not just let the government continue to take our rights and walk all over us.

Seems to me that medical marijuana should be dispensed through a pharmacy, like every other prescription drug.
