Read CNN's report on how to get help in a hurry in the ER

http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/06/25/emergenc...

Read what the Average wait time is in the emergency room

Read what the person Did

Why is it really taking so long what is really going on?

Are these delaid tactics to increase Your costs?

It's sad but true. However, in my experience many people abuse the ER. I took my daughter just Saturday night to the ER. We had gone to Point Mallard and she got a severe sunburn and was suffering from heat exhaustion. She is fine now. But while waiting (for 3 hours), I noticed one woman sitting in there needing a work excuse, another woman brought her 2 children in to see the dr - but I never saw anything wrong with the kids (as they were playing and running around waiting room), a man was there to get his pain medicine refilled. And sadly another man who looked like he was hurting badly (had that look in his face) finally got up and left. Many people use the ER because they have no insurance which means no real emergency, fakers and bums. It makes it really hard on the people who do have emergencies. Something should be done, but I don't know what the answer is.

The Real Answer would be Free Health Care for all in doing so it would or could free up the ER. At the ever least it would not make it any worse so you cannot blame that on this.

The answer is for doctors to be required to see a patient without going through the ER or having to have a referral from another doctor.
Which only adds to costs and time.

For the Insurance companies to not require a person to visit the ER first before they will pay, and for more people too be encouraged to go to the Doctor’s offices rather than having to be screened through the ER.

You are right about one thing this country has become a Hypochondriac nation where most people think we all need our own personal physician, and our own personal Psychologist to tell us we are not sick or going crazy.

Just an example the school and work in lots of cases require a note from the doctor, telling them we are sick, as well as a psychologist the rest of the employees or school children nothing wrong don’t be afraid of catching something.

Every time you turn around some need

Emergency room
Doctor
Psychologist
and Insurance

Who is really making the Money

You get the bill
The insurance company negotiates their price
Goes up on you
and you pay.

It will take a government regulated Free Health Care Program for all
To Fix it.

Health care is not a right. The correct terminology is: everyone has the right to PROCURE health care.

the only thing that government regulated FREE health care is going to do - is cost the working stiffs more -because somebody has to pick up the cost of the free health care that is given.

What needs to be done is get people working so that they can provide for their families.

The government isnt required to provide all the things we need in life - that is our responsibility. The government is required to provide us with a safe country to pursue our happiness.

Does Goverment have the right to Procure their health care at the expense of the taxpayer?

Then why not allow the taxpayer to procure their health care at the expence of goverment?

step away from the kool aid and look at the proof and past history of what public health care realy is. It means you will wait a minimum of 3 months to have a life saving test done and even longer to get an appointment with a dr. it means that the medical professionals will be cut by 2/3'rds, only those that are willing and able to pay uncle sam an under the table bribe will get a license, you will have to go to eithe rhuntsville or nashville to recieve care because there won't be local drs anymore and the care you do get when you are lucky enough to get in will be rushed and substandard. same as it is in england and in canada. don't fool yourself you will pay through the nose to get less than what you have now!

Your good sense will fail to convince this goofball that the government should not provide everything we need in life. He's been trying to promote this on all the forums. Probably gets a "crazy check" already from good 'ol Uncle Sam.

the taxpayers ARE the government. We would be the ones footing the costs.

What could happen is - those who won't work will get free health care - and those who are working will have double taken out of their salaries for health care policies.

the bottom line is: someone has to pay the cost of FREE health care.

You or your employer are paying now for your health care right?
So if you get your health care free then you or your employer are not going to pay right?

Now let’s say all our taxes go up too pay for this, does that increase your health care costs no because the cost for health care is free to you it actulies decreases your health care cost to Zero / O.

It may increase your taxes some but the off set is the difference as to the way you pay and what it is call.

The only thing that should do is change the way we are all paying for health care by spreading the burden more equal.
The ones who make more may tote more of the load but is that not the way it should be if you make more you should and can afford more?

It really will make the average person pay less yet receive more and better Health Care if ran as it should.

Some in this country are acting like the rich man and Lazarus

The sick are at our door do we turn a deaf ear and not hear.

Remember the rich man and Lazarus

Lazarus is Knocking - your argument seems sound - BUT - dont let the term "free health care" fool you. Nothing in this phisical world is free. Someone has to pay the bill. the CT Scans and MRI's and Mamograms are still going to cost alot. Just because someone waves a magic wand and declares "free health care to all" doesnt mean the doctors and hospitals are going to reduce the charges. All that they are going to do is double and triple the cost for those who CAN pay or have good paying insurance. Then - the insurance companies are going to raise the rates for those who are working and paying for their own insurance. In essence, I will be paying the premiums for my family and four or five other families.

Now - IF we have socialized medicine like some other companies - that might even be worse. patients who need LIFE SAVING procedures are put on waiting lists for months - sometimes never seeing the doctor or hospital before the desease or injury mames them for life.

If we are going to socialize Wall Street, AGI one of the largest insurances companies in the world, GM and parts of the auto industry, the rich some of the very ones who have gamble away trying to get themselves richer and then Our Politicians given away our children’s future as to debt bailout then seem to guarantee their workers health care as well as all the politicians in Congress, the past and future presidents free health care for life.

How can the government socialize those too the extent they have yet you cry about what really should be socialized like health Care and Medicine added to the fact Government pays for lots of their research that is used to produced the medicine and educational research.

If the Hi-Way system of the United States is what Socialism is, then when it comes to Health care lets have it.

For more controls are needed to be but over the Dictator ship of the Medicinal and drug Industry as to costs of their products and care.
As well as the Cost of Insurance for there is far too much fine print and negotiated deals between the three Politicians, Medical Industry, and Insurance Companies.

The Medical and the Insurance companies are in the bed with each other as to cost for the Insurance Industry dictates to the medical industry as to charges it will pay yet the consumers is caught in the middle and is forced to pay more and more at both ends if he or she has medicinal insurance and if not is not in the same position as the insurance companies as to leverage and can be verily destroyed other wise.

So if you want to call the Public Roads and Hi-Way System Socialism then Yes the Health Care System should be operated the same way as the Hi-way System with as to Government Contractual Control over it base on the good of the public need over the good of private industry needs as to the fact this is a country of the people by the people and for the people.

news from Washington - National health plan will make health coverage costs HIGHER than they are now:

WASHINGTON — Overall spending on health care would rise as a result of legislation approved a week ago by the House, and billions of dollars in projected savings contained in the measure will be difficult to maintain, according to a report by a top official at the agency that oversees Medicare.

The legislation would expand insurance coverage to an estimated 32 million people who now lack it, according to the report, creating a demand for services that “could be difficult to meet initially ... and could lead to price-increases, cost-shifting and/or changes in providers’ willingness to treat patients with low-reimbursement health coverage.”

Who is to say that 32 million people will rush to a doctor and me if I had health insurance I would still not go to the doctor unless I need too.

Health Care hospitial, Doctors and the drug industry should be like the banking industry have the FDIC and regulations to control them.

Let an agency like the FDIC guareentee their payment but control their charges such as the banks are regulated or not the schools regulated as to control costs?

Yet the Government still allows the service to be provided.

They should take the best parts of the rest of the worlds health care system learned from them and offer free regulated health care to all.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Capricorn

You're feeling edgy as Mars moves into reverse, and it won't be long before people start to get on your nerves. You might get very irritated by someone's funny little habits, yet feel you daren't say anything in case you go overboard. Or you could get very annoyed when someone blurts out something that was supposed to be a secret but which quickly becomes common knowledge.
