I recently purchased an HTC android phone from a friend of a friend but the only thing about it, is that it's locked from to many pattern attempts. The phone isn't activated and I'm not gonna waste my money activating it until I know that I can get it working which seem's to be at a lost right now. I've looked up videos on youtube and tried things on google and either I don't know what I'm doing or it's just not working. Advice from anyone who could help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know anything about unlocking a phone but I do know that YouTube has videos for everything. I have learned to do many things for YouTube. I'm almost positive you can find it on there.

Maybe I just need to try again and hopefully I will actually be able to find something. Thank you very much though for your help!

It's very simple for them to do.

I'm not sure but i think there saying the phone it self is locked not the service and that is done so if a friend of a friend wink wink steals a phone it no good. If you look around youll find something on how to unlock it . Me myself I'd go back to who i got it from and get my money back or id bloody that mofos nose !!!!!

I'm starting to think that it was stolen myself which doesn't make me feel any better about it :/ I'd hate to know that a phone I paid someone for was actually stolen so they could profit off of it but people do that kind of stuff these days. But I don't have any service on it. I use c-spire and was looking to swap carriers so I bought the HTC so there's no service and I'm thinking that in order to unlock it you'd have to have a service set up for it. That's my theory anyways. Unless I can find someone who is really good at cracking these kinds of things, I think I may have screwed myself. I kinda thought myself that it was funny how they only wanted $25 for what looks like a brand new phone and very nice at that. @ road hog- I'm not all about any violence unless it comes to my child being harmed, then we may have problems lol, but the thought of knowing someone screwed you over is enough for anyone to pull somebody to that point of wanting to. Again, I tried youtube and as my luck would have it, I came up with nothing.

If I carried it to AT&T, is there anything that they could do about it? I don't use them so I wouldn't know how that works or if it could be done.

Lol, yeah but really, I'm not gonna take it that far. It aggravates me, yes, but I don't feel the need to drag myself that low and it really isn't gonna solve anything. It is what it is. But it's a HTC (I have no idea what kind, tried getting on ATT online to find one like it but couldn't and that really doesn't make any sense) it kinda looks like the vivid but it's not. You can turn it on and off but as soon as you slide the screen to unlock it, it asks for your email and password. It won't let you any further and I don't think it's going to without an internet connection to retrieve the email and password. I thought about maybe getting someone who has a contract sim card with AT&T and having them put it in the phone and see what happens but it's really not gonna do me any good when you have to have the previous owners email and password which no one seem's to have the answer to or can even respond back to me to let me know who it came from. Very odd to me. I think I'm bout ready to pull my hair out with this!

ummmm....no most definitely NOT a cop, I can assure you that lol. Okay, I looked up the model number and it's a HTC Inspire. The number I found on it, which could be wrong, is A9192, and it pulled up a HTC Inspire that look's the same as what I have on amazon.

Bypass Gmail sign-in, Bypass passwords, Bypass screen lock drawing!!!!! I read this over at tmonews... "While playing with my G today, I found a way to enter "safe mode" which will bypass the initial gmail signin and allow you to straight to the good stuff with out activating via google. You can also bypass the security drawing pattern. 1. Power off your device 2. While device is powering back on press and hold the "menu" key, keep holding it past the G1 and android splash screen. Phone will boot all the way to the main screen and display "safe mode" in lower left corner. I have confirmed that data is still fully operational and all of my downloaded programs." Very interesting

@ curious...describe it to me and I'll tell you if it's it. I don't mind at all meeting and giving it back if it is in fact stolen. I'd want someone to do the same for me.
