They can put Sudafed behind the counters but that only keeps it out of the hands of the honest people. Something has got to be done about this country's meth problem. It makes crack look like lollipops!

I work in a pharmacy and I don't know if they have started to do it where you are from, but we have to type all the driver's license info in at the time of purchase. This is regulated by the government to monitor the amount purchased. You have to have a state id or driver license. and if you exceed the amount allowed a month, they cannot make the purchase any where. all stores that sell this stuff should be doing this.
no it is not fair for the honest people, but if the people making meth can't buy it like that, they will use something else....

All that does is create a black market for those type of goods.

Now instead of one person buying 100 boxes you have 25 buying four.

More life has been claimed by drugs. When will people realize "drugs kill"..... God be with the innocent family members at this time.

In November of 2002 I was incarcerated with Mr Mcdowell at the Charleston County Detention Center. We were housed with the Worst of the worst inmates. Mr Mcdowell was in a cell wit Jesse Waylon Sapp a cop killer and Drug abuser. I bet he learned all he needed to know living with that scum bag. I am here to say that the root of his problem was his family situation. After looking at the news and seeing the family I see the lack of parental supervision and good home training. Mr Mcdowell never recived a visit and almost never got any mail. Maybe we need to monitor our children a little more, and keep an ongoing communication outlet available so that children can come to the parents when there is a problem instead of using drugs. I knew this guy was going to do something terrible.

The whole deal is, that dude killed my friend. The word "DRUGS" is taken away from the truth! Ruby is now dead and all I see here is talk about drugs! What about her family? The guy set my friend on fire, he killed her! If you write about something stick to the facts "Murder!!"

HOW CAN YOU BLAME ANYTHING ON THE FAMILY OF THE GUY... HE IS OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER..I DON'T FEEL FOR HIM... HE NEEDS TO PAY FOR WHAT HE DONE TO RUBY.. RUBY IS A GREAT PERSON AND DID NOT DESERVE THAT.. SHE HAD A GREAT SON WHO HAD A CHILD ON THE WAY.. SHE WILL NEVER GET TO MEET HER GRANDCHILD KNOW.. HOW COULD SOMEONE BE AS CRUEL AS HIM... HE DESERVES EVERYTHING HE GETS.... HOW DARE YOU BLAME HIS FAMILY.. THAT IS TOO ANYONE WHO BLAMES HIS FAMILY.. IF YOU WERE IN JAIL WITH HIM... THEN YOU SHOULD KNOW HOW HE WAS... HE IS SICK AND NEEDS HELP.. HER FAMILY IS THE ONE IN PAIN.. AND HE STILL GETS TO EAT HIS FOOD AND WATCH TV IN JAIL..THAT IS SICK..

I have to agree with this friend from Lexington. Family is not a viable excuse for this man's actions. I for one have had a lot of people piss me off and who have done things to me that to most would cause adverse reactions. I dont have the best family background either. What's more I have friends whose family backgrounds are !#!$. There comes a time where you have to carry your burden on your shoulders squarely and understand that you live in an extended network of people who know people who know people. That egotistical machismo was his downfall not his family.

I think Oscar Mcdowell should be put to death in the most painful way or put him in isolation with the biggest and bad inmate you can find.

I'm glad that this guy's mother has to live with the fact that she failed to do anything about him being completely "out of his head". Wonder how many other women he murdered or brutalized before he killed Ruby?

im not gonna lie, i really respect this guy. i think what he did was quite admirable. sounds like a good cure for the common bitch - 12 slugs to the face and some postmordem mutilation. who can argue with that
