Have a mother cat whose 5 kittens were all killed Friday night. She is now so full of milk she is miserable. Does anyone know what to do to help her without having to take her to the vet? Please help if you have any advise......

I found this on yahoo, might try this advice...

"If you want you could call local shelters or vets and see if anyone has a few kittens that need a mama. This time of year vets and shelters get overwelmed with kittens that are only a few days old. Maybe you could help them out.

If you prefer not to deal with all the kittens then your mama will be fine. I would suggest you massage your mama's boobs. Just run your hand softly un and down over her boobies to help her out. I don't know if you ever nursed a child but when it comes to an end your boobies swell and get sore. So gently rub her belly for her. Don't try milking her or even play with the nipples. I'm saying just rub softly but firmly up and down her belly."

Hope that helps.

Some people are worthless slobs who sit at home on the internet and have absolutely no life and nothing else to do with their time. You are really a sick person. My 10 year old daughter and myself put this on here trying to get some advise.......GOOD JOB SICKO. Hope you don't have children of your own. God Bless Your Soul.

How did you take what I said to be offensive?

I think you took the word "mama" literally. "Mama" was referring to your cat.

Relax and re-read it again. It's spot on for what you can do to help your cat. Either get some kittens from a shelter or rub her belly. What's so sick about that?

Sorry for trying to help.

"Wondering"...what "here" posted is spot on. That is exactly what you need to do for your mother cat. "Here" was not being gross or sick in any way. I was a Veterinary Technician for 6 years, and the advice that was quoted by "here", is exactly the advice you need to take. Good Luck

How did the kittens get killed, is what I would like to know. I hope you didn't do it so that you didn't have to manage them! Please explain what happened,

I am speechless that you took offence to the response supplied. In what way do you hope to be able to care for a cat if the idea of soothing sore teats can disgust you so much and to attack the person trying to help you??

Try getting your head out of the gutter. Don't ask for advise and then slam the person who gave it to you. Ungrateful much?

"Hey, could you help me jump my car off?"....

Reply, "Sure no problem".

"You sicko, sob, trying to get close to my car, how dare you offer to help me, I have a 10 year old daughter, you go to hell"....

Beautiful.

No joke. You should contact the Knox County Animal Shelter. They are really great people and they will give you advice (off the record of course because they are not veternarians). I trust them with their knowledge and experience. Plus you may be able to save a couple of kittens that may have lost their mommy and need to nurse. God works in mysterious ways! Good luck.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Virgo

Keep a pinch of salt handy today because not everything you hear will be the gospel truth. Someone might have manipulated the facts to make them sound more acceptable, or they may have got carried away and forgotten to tell you something rather vital. Try to keep misunderstandings to a minimum by being as straightforward and honest as possible, and by not simply assuming that people know what you're talking about and therefore not bothering to explain properly.
