Review: Art Plumbing & Air Cond

The water line to my ice maker stopped flowing so I called Art Plumbing for a diagnosis. They gave me a quote in excess of $1000.00 to replace the copper pipe that runs 8 feet from my garage, through my attic, to the refrigerator. I asked them if it was possible that sediment occluded the line at the end point. They said absolutely said not, the line itself was bad and needed replacement. Later that evening, I used a 3 cent paper clip to loosen the sediment and it has worked perfectly ever since. Art Plumbing is a total rip off. Buyer beware, use someone else! Bigger isn't always better!

Called Art Plumbing late last night for a water heater line burst. They determined we needed a new water heater (which we did) and quoted us $1778.75. That was included the very generous discount according to the technician. I told him absolutely not -- my husband could buy one for $300 and replace it if he were in town. I called other reputable, licensed, and insured plumbing companies who gave me free estimates all under $700.00 each. I finally settled for a great company and paid $565.00, which included the replacement of the shut-off valve that had also broken. Art Plumbing must make its money from unsuspecting people who have NO CLUE what plumbing repairs or replacements should cost. This should not even be legal for them to charge over a thousand dollars more than any other contractor. RIP-OFF!

Forgot to add to my review above that they ended up charging me $230.00 just to cap off the water line of the water heater pipe. Holy cow! How are they in business???

Thank you all for the heads up on "Art plumbing", it sure does help to get the word out, how can these people sleep at night knowing they are ripping innocent people off. Thanks again, i am sure he won't be in business long, Karma will bite him in the arse.
